Wellness Tailored to the Black Experience

Tap into a vast library of culturally relevant resources.

With more than 250 video and audio programs led by Black coaches, therapists, psychologists, and mindfulness experts, Alkeme (pronounced “alchemy”) provides culturally relevant wellness and mental health tools for the Black community.

What we love: How Alkeme addresses intergenerational racial trauma directly. Video series like Black to Work help you navigate microaggressions and stereotyping, while courses like “Identifying and Understanding Your Emotions” and “Coping With Grief” can help ensure you feel seen. Or tap into positive vibes (and a little deep breathing) with Waves, the app’s guided meditations.

Go at your own pace with programs broken down into smaller practices.

Quick tip: Lean into an active wellness practice with Yoga for Self-Love with Rebeckah Price or Afrobeats Flow Yoga. (Find them both using the search tab.)

Meet the creator: Founder and CEO Ryan Mundy struggled with depression, anxiety, and a loss of identity after an injury ended his NFL career. After struggling to find a therapist who could relate to his lived experience, he set out to change the health care industry by addressing Black mental health. “Twenty years from now I want to look back and say Alkeme was a catalyst in making a significant impact on the trajectory of Black health,” he says.
