Race With Your Brain: Turn-Based Car Racing Game

Tactics rule in these turn-based rallies. Check out GPixel's strategic sprints.
Who needs twitchy reflexes and absurdly long drifts? In GPixel's strategic sprints, you drive a few car-lengths at a time—planning each move for maximum impact. Choose your car's direction and speed, then tap Go to surge forward and pull ahead of rivals. Cut corners, gear down on curves, and don't crash!
What we love: The awesome sense of nostalgia. This digital homage to simple pen-and-paper racing games captures all of their charm while adding challenging conditions like cloud cover or nighttime tracks. And it's a blast with pals too—fire up a quick race with up to four friends sharing a single device.
Quick tip: You can adjust your speed in increments of one (either faster or slower). On courses with lots of twists and turns, zoom out to scope the track ahead—you don't want to roar into a sharp bend when it's too late to slow down.
Meet the creator: As a child, Jacopo Guanziroli would play an analog version of GPixel's strategic sprints using crayons and graph paper—he and his friends would draw a track and start racing. To bring his childhood pastime to mobile devices, the Spain-based developer did everything from designing the cars to composing the music.
