You can’t cheat death forever in Dice Versa, but you’ll have a blast trying! To stay alive, just match dice; it’s easy at first, but this puzzler grows fiendishly challenging as Versa—your demon nemesis—fills the board with tricky obstacles. Are you feeling lucky?

What we love: Setting up big combos. Clearing a row of dice matched by color or value earns extra points—and a Double Clear (matching two rows at once) earns triple! There’s nothing quite like watching the board go from crowded to empty with a few well-planned moves. You’re a genius!

Quick tip: Double Clears are easier to set up early in the game because you’re working with fewer color and value options. Hitting several of these combos right off the bat racks up points and helps you stockpile game-extending rerolls—both vital for high scores.

Meet the creator: A software developer by day, Tom Tirapani spends his spare time making games under the studio name Ragtag Games. He built the prototype for Dice Versa in 48 hours as part of the 2022 GMTK Game Jam, devising its rules using roleplaying dice on a miniature chessboard; the game was chosen as a finalist from more than 6,000 entries.
