5 Enchanting Tips for AFK Journey

Greetings, Magister Merlin! The world of AFK Journey is teeming with monsters to fight and citizens to save. But even the most worldly magician could use a few new tricks to try.

1. Stay level

When you level up your five Hands of Resonance heroes, everyone else automatically gets elevated to the lowest level of the five. To maximize your roster’s power, upgrade everyone in tandem rather than letting one hero rocket too far past the rest.

2. Call a medic

Support characters might not hit hard, but they’re invaluable in lengthy battles. Double up on healers (maybe Rowan and Hewynn) alongside a sturdy tank like Thoran and an AOE ace like Viperian. The constant healing will keep you in the fight!

3. Refreshen up

The randomness of Honor Duel matches can make ascending heroes tricky. If you don’t see hero copies you need, pay to refresh the shop: Three honor badges is a small price for a shot at boosting your squad! And no worries if you run out of funds right when you find the hero you were looking for—just lock them in place and buy them later.

4. Follow the modes

Every hero has an upside, but some excel in specific modes. Hard-hitting Korin, for instance, is a Dream Realm staple, but he underperforms in story and PvP fights. Conversely, the hard-to-hit Igor may be tough on PvP opponents, but he’s rarely a good Dream Realm pick. Switch up your squads accordingly!

5. Become a myth

Try to ascend characters to at least Mythic+, which unlocks their exclusive weapon and adds a unique passive ability. The Hypogean spellcaster Reinier, for instance, is a slow starter but becomes indispensable once he can access the damage-dealing Tuned Art skill.
