As a new business owner I thought I was doing the right thing spending thousands for tax “advice” and help.  Not only is there no real advice given, it’s incorrect advice to line their pockets.  Not only was I wrongly and told to file as an S-Corp, causing me headache and unnecessary extra paperwork- I’m having to do all the work myself in the portal they provided which isn’t even worth $50.  I’ve been bounced around from person to person and one of the tax “advisors” said out loud, while talking to herself, “I really need to learn this”.  You think?!  I also just learned that although it was told my payment was for filing of all the taxes and forms, it really only covers income tax.  I’m left to figure out state tax, sales tax, and county rendition filings on my own.  
Huge disappointment. I definitely will not be using this service again.

I am not even sure if the developers are paying attention to the critical feedbacks because most issues are still unsolved. This makes me to conclude that customers voice is insignificant to the 1800 accountant team and they just only care for sales of their services more than customer retention and satisfaction. Pathetic ! I don’t recommend this company or it’s services to anyone until they show an ability to improve. Period!

I have paid over $3k and have yet to have anything completed, for
 payroll to tax filing to bookkeeping. Numerous attempts to get answers. My contacts keep changing and I attempt to tell the new person everything. 3 months and counting. About to miss tax filing deadline. No one will call me. Perhaps this review will help, warn others and maybe get someone to take ownership of this bad customer experience.

Initially when they have you on the phone, the sales people will give you the world. Sounds fantastic right? Wrong! The app is nice but your bank account will disconnect from it all the time which is a pain to get connected back, then once you get it connected again it looses all your data. Very frustrating and useless sometimes. 
When it is working, it’s nice to be able to pull up reports and not have to do the calculations yourself. I definitely don’t recommend. 

I’m sure when they reply, they’ll say something like they can’t find me in their records or something blah blah blah.

I missed their deadline to file my tax return by 1 day apparently and it’s now been 72 days and still doesn’t seem like it’ll be done anytime soon . Let me be clear I did not miss the federal deadline April 15 I missed their deadline which I assume is March 31st but I honestly don’t know they were never clear about when the deadline was. I would message the team just about everyday for an update and they still tell me it’s being reviewed . I just don’t understand if I missed their deadline by one day why should I be penalized 70+ days ?!?  30+ days ago they said my return would be done in a week and nothing yet . Now I’m going to penalized with late fees which would never have happened if I had just did my taxes in person with a cpa

The app was missing certain tasks & functionality, lots of bugs. It was recommended I use desktop & use website. The service provided by company was bad.  The sales team is great, but once they have your $$ they’re done. I can’t get anyone to call me back and can’t make an appointment online or app. Not worth the cost.

Tried to do my taxes with these guys. The accountant I had cancelled two meetings pushing my tax appointment right up to the deadline. Ended up cancelling my services due to the lack of urgency anyone at 1-80 accountant took on my behalf. I got none of the services I paid for from them.

I use my phone in dark mode. However whenever I have to send a message to an accountant I have to change it to regular white mode because the my texts are invisible until I switch out of dark mode.

This 1 800 Accountant app leaves the screen while trying to set an appointment. The message center doesn’t work and the coloring is either invisible on white or black lettering on dark gray background...just horrible.  It is anything but convenient to get something done via this application.

**Update** the developer responded and said “I’m glad we were able to resolve this issue with you!” - but don’t listen to that, it is not even close to being resolved, nor has anyone reached out to me about these app issues and nothing has been fixed! I think they may be trying to control the public narrative on this, but this app is really terrible, so is the website.

This app is incredibly slow, sometimes taking more than 1-2 minutes JUST to log in to the app. This also happens on the desktop browser. I can’t add many of my credit cards and bank accounts, which is CRUCIAL to a bookkeeping and accounting service, how else are me and my accounts supposed to keep track of finances and purchases? They keep saying, “try again in a few days, try a new browser” though I’ve tried them all for a while now. I’ve had nothing but performance issues and glitches with this platform. If not fixed this week, I will be wholeheartedly seeking a refund after paying nearly $4600 in total services from them!

I could go on and on about what is wrong but the essential flaw is that nobody seems to have thought, even for a moment, about the user experience. The whole system seems to be thought in terms of how 1-800 Accountants can get the info they need and not about how the user (the client) can get what we need without some extra effort or jumping through hoops

Worst accounting and tax preparation service I’ve encountered. App is horrible -  too many bugs and glitches. Filed taxes and the accountant estimated my taxes to be $1000 more than what was due (verified by the IRS). Do not use this service, they will take your money and cost you a bunch more in inconveniences.

Do not work with this company. An absolute scam. They will waste your time and end up causing huge tax and financial issues. Insane lack of communication, errors in submissions and issues with the tech platform in general. No customer service standards - if you are even able to reach someone!

Hope this company goes bankrupt for all the clients they’ve wronged.

The concept of the app is great but the execution is quite poor. The app is very finicky, it will sign you out constantly. The app is touchy when trying to track miles and often I have to log them manually because it closes itself out when trying to track miles. There are a bunch of other small layout and design issues that I wish would change. Again the idea is great but it does not come through on actual user friendly execution, too many flaws and glitches.

Save your money. 1800 accountant is full of false promises and you will never receive the service you expect. This is a work from home company and the employees don’t communicate with each other. If you need anything urgent, it’s not going to happen.. you might be lucky to get one response a day. Also 80% of the employees can hardly speak English so it is impossible to portray your needs to them. Overall 0/10 service and company.

Enter details (email, password, name etc) click ‘sign up’ and nothing happens , no feedback to say if any information was wrong , no indication if sign up completed - just nothing. So I can’t even use the app. Tried clicking several times, tried repeating whole process twice, which is a

Please don’t go with this company. When it all started I was talking to someone pretending to be my tax advisor (spoke my language well). Once I paid almost 3 grand I receive a call from another country speaking to someone I can barely understand and that can barely understand me. That was just the start but do not hire them.

Here it is December of 2022 and the app hasn’t been updated since 2019. One of my biggest issues with the app is when trying to message someone you have white (or invisible) letters on a white background so you can’t see what you’re typing until you hit submit. I have to open the notes app to see what I’m typing and the copy & paste it into the app. Please fix.

This app has some issues and seriously need to update it. The problem I’m having is when I need to message someone I cannot see the text until I send it. It’s like the text is white and it’s very annoying when I’m trying to send messages and see what I’m writing.

La verdad empecé a usar y llame pague y todo la verdad tuve muchos problemas para conectar la aplicación de el banco que nunca pude asta me toco cambiar de banco segundo nunca te llaman ala hora que te dicen si eres una persona ocupada no te gustara que estén jugando con tu tiempo a demás no te dan la atención adecuada ya casi un mes que estoy lidiando con lo de las taxas y me toca estar llame y llame por que no me ayudan a nada la verdad no recomiendo mejor busquen otras opciones aparte de eso ellos dicen que hablan español que fue por lo que me gusto pero siempre que me llaman es en inglés y si les digo que quiero que me hablen en español me mueven la cita asta para otra semana mas que me toca perder el tiempo

The app malfunctions regularly. The messages don’t work in dark mode or light mode. The bank accounts always disconnect. The app crashes regularly 

Outside of that the company is a total rip off. They charge you so much for the bare minimum. Hardly communicate and send automated emails that are elusive and lacking details

Downloaded 8 months ago and use it every day.  Super easy and intuitive, especially for a new business owner like me who doesn’t understand debits and credits.  I like how clean and simple the dashboard is, it only has the features I need to track expenses, mileage, create/send invoices, and generate reports.  Best part is it comes with a Bookkeeper, if I ever have questions, they are always available to answer them which saves me tons of time and $$$.

It allows syncing and organizing multiple bank accounts, generates reports, stores large documents securely, gets ready for tax season by gathering information. You can literally drag and drop your prior year return, and it fills in half the information for you! What more could you ask for, from the 1800Accountant team?

How about an update?
Also fix the invoicing tool, right now it’s worthless. 
Also, how about adding the option to link personal bank accounts separate from business accounts, so my accountant can see everything and give sound advice. 
Good platform but y’all need to make it worth the money we’re spending. My dedicated accountant and team should be reaching out to me to help keep me on track.

Canceling my services. It’s been one thing after another with this business! Once assigned an accountant he flakes on TWO meetings. Then just went head and took $600 out of bank account two weeks before the next installment is due! They have me a quick refund however my trust in this process is now gone. I asked to cancel my services in writing with the 30-day period so hopefully they will honor their refund policy. Not holding breath.
