## What is 1% IRL?

1% IRL is a pre-event social-connection app for people who want fewer introductions, but better ones.

Built for curated dinners, members-only nights, founder gatherings, and the kind of events where the room matters as much as the agenda. You register, get cleared from the waitlist, and walk into the venue already knowing who's worth a second drink.

THE ROOM BEFORE THE ROOM

Once you're cleared for an event, you see the other cleared attendees. Read their bios, their vibes, the things they're into. Send a Signal — a low-pressure intro — to anyone you'd actually like to meet. They accept. You arrive at the venue with a handful of people already expecting you.

LOCK-IN: PROOF OF MEETING

When you and another attendee actually meet at the event, you both enter each other's 4-digit PIN to "Lock In" the connection. It's a small ritual that confirms a real-world introduction happened — and earns you IRL Keys you can redeem at future events.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT

You don't browse strangers in your area. You connect with people already confirmed for the same event. 
You don't pay to slide into someone's DMs. You pay (with attention, time, and a Lock-In) to be in the room.

WHO IT'S FOR

Direct messages — once you Lock In with someone at an event, you can message each other right in the app.
Event photo albums — capture photos in-app and share them to the event's album. Shots you take are saved to your camera roll too.
Messages now show real names and profile photos.
Profile polish — add your Instagram handle, find your reward codes in one place, plus event sponsor logos and fixes.

Sign in faster with Apple or Google — your existing email login still works.
A smoother first run: cleaner loading states, refined icons, better spacing on sign-up and onboarding, and friendlier error recovery.
Profile photos now fall back to your initials instead of a broken image.

Polish from the v1.0 launch:
Sign-up consent is now split into two clear steps (age confirmation + Terms acceptance).
Tap to dismiss the keyboard anywhere on Report and other forms.

New users without a profile photo see their initial on a clean background instead of a stock image.
