### 4/5 — Kanji made easy!

*2014-01-08*

I've been using the app for a few days and I can recognise over 100 kanji.
But As with the previous review only know them in English too - would be great to have kana option with the basic kanji too or sound bites.
Great ap!!
Thanks great app!

### 4/5 — Great app to learn basic kanjis!!

*2013-10-31, version 1.5*

Remember when you were a kid and played the memory game? Well i only used this for two days and already memorized 100 kanjis...you can chose how many kanjis to learn and then i'd advise you to run this app every morning and evening and practice.

I would have given five stars if we also had the romaji to learn and/or voice to tell you how to pronounce kanjis but this is a great tool to improve your reading.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2013-07-31*

I love the way this app works, it's easy to use and great for learning some of the lower jplt kanji. It's simple and effective, easier to use than srs programs where you may be required to build your own decks. I think it's great that you can turn on/off certain cards without deleting them. I just wish it had more content in it, not that I'm not satisfied!

Overall a 4.5 star app IMO, ありがとうございます。頑張ってね。

### 4/5 — Good app, good times.

*2013-05-11*

I recently downloaded about 20 apps for kanji study, then began the process of eliminating the ones that were useless or difficult to use. This was one of the five keepers! It's really helping me brush up on my kanji. It would be nice if it gave the meanings in kana as well.

### 4/5 — User Friendly

*2013-04-03*

Very easy to use. Would be cool if you had to trace the characters to flip the flash card.

### 4/5 — Good!

*2013-03-11*

Really good app for beginners!

### 4/5 — Pretty good app

*2013-03-01*

Nice, simple to use flash card app with large kanji characters (on my iPad mini). I do wish this app included an option to view kana with the kanji, but there is no kana, just kanji and English; hopefully the developer will add this feature. Anyhow, my rating is a really about a 3.5 - I enjoy using the app. If in the future it were to include kana then I would revise the rating to four plus stars.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — i wish i didn't download this app

*2019-09-30*

It said 1000 kanji and the fact is just only about 500 without how to read the kanji.

### 1/5 — Could be improved

*2014-11-23*

I downloaded this app hoping it would help me learn/remember/understand kanji a bit better. The problem with kanji is that reading them alone with English translations alone does not do this. For example 日 (nichi) means day but you can also use it for 日本 (Nippon) which means Japan or 日曜 (nichiyoubi) weekday. So it would be more helpful if they can include on-yomi and kun-yomi readings of kanji rather than just English definitions.

### 1/5 — Okay for recognition

*2013-09-22*

No kun or on readings are provided. Only useful if you're working towards recognition only.

### 2/5 — keeps crashing!

*2020-05-12*

Super slow and frozen!

### 3/5 — Shows promise, but needs Japanese pronunciation

*2015-01-06*

The app description says that onyomi and kunyomi readings are provided, but they are not, and I don't see a way to turn them on.

### 3/5 — Needs Japanese reading

*2013-09-18*

The app works well, but it'd be nice to have the Japanese reading of each character as well as the English meaning.

### 3/5 — One Problem

*2013-08-05*

This is great, however, it would be much more helpful if the readings AND the English translations were included at the same time, rather than having to toggle between two decks to learn them both.

### 3/5 — Helpful

*2013-01-03, version 1.3*

It's very helpful. Tnx you :3

### 4/5 — Nice to have

*2017-06-25*

This is easy to use and just like having paper flashcards at your fingertips. Nice to have when there's down time. And it's free!! Only thing better would be if the audio of the Japanese words playing when learning the English.

### 4/5 — Purchase items

*2015-04-08*

At first I wasn't too impressed but as I continued my use, I think that interface is really smooth. The only thing that bugs me is that there isn't a 'purchase all' option. Perhaps change the "buy us coffee" to "please donate".

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Does what it says on the tin

*2024-11-14, version 2.3*

KanjiFlashCards. Easy to use, simple set up, no issues.

### 5/5 — Extremely Useful

*2014-06-24*

I am in the process of learning Japanese and this app has helped me drill myself on the go. The only thing I would say that would make it better for me is to include all Japanese pronunciation for some of the cards (it seems like some already have it) as kanji can have more than one meaning. This app is great! Keep up the good work~

### 5/5 — Great

*2014-02-23*

Get it helps alot

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2013-08-28*

Been working with the Japanese language and haven't found a great easy to use fun app but this one is everything I've been looking for. Learned several hundred kanji in quite a short amount of time. Haven't learned the readings or key words but they are waiting for me in this great app when I'm ready :)

My only wish is that there was more. I'd even pay for them to have more packs to learn from like the first 440.

### 5/5 — Easy Fun Effective

*2013-07-17*

Definitely not for people who have no experience with Japanese but if you are taking Japanese classes or are already learning on your own this app is amazing for practice on the go. I've used it for hours and I have no doubt I know double the amount of Kanji I knew before downloading this app. I recommend it to anyone with knowledge of the language who wants to improve their vocabulary and character count.

### 5/5 — thank you developers!!

*2013-03-30, version 1.3*

finally, a kanji app that works! I'm picking things up so much faster now. definitely going to check out their other products. can't recommend this app enough. please make more! perhaps add something to help with stroke order? thanks again!!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2012-11-04*

Excellent tool. Very flexible.

### 4/5 — Very useful.

*2014-06-19*

I had tried to make my own kanji flash cards - then I found this. It does the trich. I would like, however, to have not only English but also Romaji and/or hiragana on the one side. It is not enough to know what the word is in English.
