The card was automatically hit for the payment amount. I get an alert when that card is used. I tried to set up my account info and password. Then I hit “continue” and I got a message written in red in a downward column about something not being supported. I downloaded the app from the App Store. It loaded and asked for my login info. I entered it (several times) and got a message that my credentials don’t match. I can’t find any place where I can cancel my subscription. Terrible user interface and preposition words such as de, en (Spanish) count towards the 1000 word total. Poor customer service. Would not refund my money when I asked. Stick to really good apps like Drops or Memrise for your language learning. Several screens show me the Spanish word and the next screen is blank (doesn’t show me the English word). When you click to hear the pronunciation it sounds robotic. I would like a refund since so many of the screens don’t show me the English word. But by reading other reviews it seems like I will have a hard enough time canceling my subscription. It needs a whole lot of work, or needs to be scrapped and rebuilt from scratch, to match the vision they described on their website. False advertising. Teaches you nothing, it’s just a really poorly made Spanish dictionary with no English translation. Very interesting. ### 3/5 — Has flaws but still could be good *2022-01-21, version 1.0.5* The GIFs are *so* annoying. They are flashy and distracting, and so far have not helped with the meaning or memorization of the words at all. The giphy search seems to be in English, which is my native language, not my target language. So when I’m trying to learn the word “sin” in Spanish, which means “without”, I’m seeing a gif of someone saying “Let the sin begin!” This is not helping me learn the word at all. If there was a way to turn off the gif display in settings, I wouldn’t be quite so annoyed with them. But I couldn’t find such a setting. I would love it if the app had an alphabetical listing of the words I’ve learned so far, kind of like a dictionary of known words. Also, a breakdown of conjugations would be nice, so that when I’m studying the word “ir” for instance, I will know why I’m seeing the word “va” in the example sentence instead. I also wish it had a way of trying the app before purchasing a subscription. I think the top 25 words should be free and then a subscription required after that. Despite all the things I’ve listed wrong with the app, I do think the app has great potential. I can’t wait to see more languages added to it. I love learning languages and I think this app has the ability to be quite useful for that.
