Poor interface and doesn’t work well
The functionality is poor, and the app doesn’t always play audio even with restarts of the app or the phone. The problem nterface is not intuitive. They should fire their UX designer and get this thing revamped.
Abysmal
Absolutely abysmal software and firmware. The 791 keeps hanging for no reason, the Mind app crashes, disconnects, hangs and is virtually unusable. I’ll give it a few more days and return the system. This isn’t a new problem, Simaudio need to sort their software team out. Stop adding useless features and get it working.

Makes my system sound better
But why must I always click a folder, Tidal, cue either one track or the whole album?
Then it’s really slow to operate and someone that wants to play a song on my phone would have no idea of the process it takes to do it.

Works well
I have been using this app for a year. I use it standalone and with Roon. I have used it with the 390 and now the 891. I use the 891 for streaming from Qobuz and in balanced mode for theater bypass. I listen to music and watch movies every day. I do have excellent wifi. I have had essentially no difficulty managing the system with the app. I do wish the 891 could at least turn on and off and change inputs with Alexa. Overall best app that I know of for a high end system.

This app absolutely SUCKS
I’ve had a 280D for four years. I had no problems with the app and updates until I updated to the last one and now this one. Nothing but problems since then.
New Release is very buggy…..
App crashes if you try to save a playlist. This new version erased all my existing playlists. Thanks. Not. Very slow to update “now playing” album cover. Sometimes it doesn’t update at all. This new version needs work.
Unusable
Latest update is completely unusable, appallingly slow on a 60mpbs connection, not sure what testing they are doing but it’s not working.
Opinion changes when updates break things
So often updates break things that were fine before. This time all my playlists disappeared (and they have before). Proper testing prior to release would improve success. When working properly it is a good app. Thank you for ditching the sepia toned next/previous cover art. So much nicer left alone.

iOS 16.2 causing MiND shutdowns
I just updated my iPhone 14 Pro to the latest iOS 16.2, and suddenly it’s causing my 380D DAC to shut down. I think it’s related to the MiND and the MiND controller app. If your iPhone goes into screen saver mode and you open it back up while it’s streaming to the MiND, it causes the DAC/MiND to completely shut down and turn off. You can use the app then to turn it all back on again. I’m running the latest MiND controller and have an internal MiND2 unit.
