Don’t bother
Was second in the auction and there were plenty of open seats on the flight, but when the auction ended there was a “reservation system error” and no one won the auction. Waste of time.

Great app, great experience!
I am a very frequent flyer and always looking for options to upgrade on the long haul flights. Flying with TAP for the first time I discovered the perfect, fair and easy opportunity to upgrade. I was super sceptical at the beginning (the UX/UI does need some polish), it worked like a charm for me!
The super friendly Seat Boost team is also present at the gate and the guys are supporting the bidding process in-person. I was told more airlines are coming and really looking forward to use Seat Boost again elsewhere!
A couple of suggestions for the dev team:
- The auction ends very close to the boarding time. There's no chance to use other benefits like the lounge, fast lane etc.
- It is not very clear if only the first bidder wins, or the whole group in case there is more then 1 place available.
- Integrate other payment options and use the native Stripe UI. Tje CC form looks a bit awkward.

Scam
App is crap. Says you can bid then you spend all day bidding only to find flight isn’t eligible. Terrible customer service and TAP is the rudest.

I was the only bidder and don’t get the upgrade.
According to the airline, this was the only way to get an upgrade at that time and so clearly no seats were available at the start of the auction.

Very cool option !!
Loved this option - saw that it was available for my Miami to Lisbon flight on TAP. Easy to use after I checking for my flight - I needed some real sleep so went for the lie flat first class and was stoked to win for much less than I thought. My buddy didn’t go for the first class option but he was able to get a good price on a premium economy - will def look out for this on all long ones.

Technical Glitch Lost Us Upgrade
We were told by the airline staff that there was plenty of seating in executive, but when it came down to bidding, the “place bid” button didn’t work. As a result, we were too late to upgrade at the check in counter and couldn’t upgrade. Terrible experience and wish we would have booked directly.

I used this before covid to upgrade my seat on a flight back to LA from Lisbon. I felt like I was playing a game and won the lottery!!!!

This app is a joke
I was the only person in the auction and I didn’t win. Obviously there were no executive class seats available for auction but still they wanted me to up my bid. What a scam! Beware!

Thank you for your feedback. Availability may increase or decrease during our auctions due to a number of factors. Bidders will win any seats that are available through SeatBoost at the end of the auction, based on the total amount bid, as long as there are no restrictions with your ticket. We have recently implemented additional in-app messaging to help to explain this. We encourage interested users to join because there is always a chance to win, and there is no cost to participate.
