  • Great app

Please provide a way to let app not to calculate weight while inputting. If I want to bench with 25lbs plate, I’ll want to input weight as 95lbs, currently when I do 95, app automatically thinks total weight as 95 + 95 + 45
  • Amazing app worth every penny but….

This app has changed the game for my workouts and I truly LOVE it. I paid for the annual access which is honestly super affordable and totally worth the money. My one critique is that you don’t have any great options for a workout “refresh” once the app has selected your workout for the day. You can of course always change the length of the workout (15 min, 30 min, 45 min, 1 hour etc) but when you change the time the workout typically reconfigures altogether as opposed to just dropping reps etc. If you go from a 1 hour workout to a 30 min workout it changes to a whole new workout and if you hate the 30 min workout plan and switch back to 1 hour it doesn’t go back to the original workout it changes to another whole new workout. Not ideal… it would be great to either maintain similar workout plans between time changes OR have a “refresh” button that will switch out all of the workouts without having to manually change each activity one by one.

Overall a great app though and has helped me lots. It changes what muscle groups you work so you never really get stuck in a rut. The app could definitely just use a few small updates :))

  • Does everything for me! Love it

So easy to pop in your goals and how regularly you want to go, then creates automated workout routines for you. So good I can replace exercises for something else if it doesn't suit me, and it learns what weights work for you for each exercise type to create more refined workouts over time. Love it!

  • Fantastic app

I’ve been working out for two decades and when you’ve been working out that long you tend to do the same routine every week. Fitbod makes working out more interesting by suggesting exercises you wouldn’t normally consider. And if you don’t like it you can always adapt as you see fit. Want to start out with a particular exercise or want to do an upper or lower split, you can do so. If you’re working out at home it can suggest a whole body weight routine. If your gym doesn’t have some piece of equipment that’s being suggested you can just exclude that piece of equipment or exercise in the future.

I look forward to working out more now as I don’t know what I’m going to be doing that day until I open the app and it keeps my body guessing with new movements that keep things interesting.

The machine learning algorithms can definitely improve but it’s a good app even in its current form.

  • I use this app 3x a week

I love this app. I’ve been using it every time I workout, it took about 12 months (or a recent update) to actually do what it was marketed for - generate a workout tailored for me. For the first 12 months I created my own workouts, which the app worked brilliantly for! Excellent if you’re a self motivated person and like to tick ALL the boxes in a full body workout.

The app is also great for creating a stretching routine, you can even turn it into a timed yoga flow if set the sequences up right.

Overall, love the app, love it even more now that it generates tailor made workouts for me.

  • 10 months later and very happy with my progress

I wanted to wait a while before reviewing this app to really be fair. I’ve been consistently weightlifting by following its programming for the past 10 months and I’m very impressed and happy with my results! Seeing my 2022 recap really put things into perspective.

I really like how this app recommends specific weights and set/rep counts. It celebrates new PRs in weight, projected 1 rep max, rep count, and volume, which adds a nice layer of gamification to help with motivation. It’s really nice to have the exercises switch up too, to keep things interesting.

I’ve also appreciated the recent UI updates. It used to be a bit awkward and unintuitive to change between different gym settings (standard, at home, etc.), or different splits. Now these are on the main screen of the app.

I’ve recommended this app to my fellow gym rat friends and I recommend it to anyone else who wants to get stronger without hiring a (human) personal trainer.

  • Long Time User

I’ve been using FitBod since they first started with Allen way back in the day. Is it perfect? Nope. But FitBod has helped me shed weight and be confident in the gym. I’m an ultra endurance athlete and I don’t think FitBod meets the needs for future Arnold’s and Hulks. If you’re like me and want to stay fit and strong, or save time in figuring out what to do today, then check out FitBod.

I used to spend hours over the course of a year thinking about my routine, throwing in change ups, and walking around the gym just kinda doing whatever. With FitBod, I can get off work and hit the gym if the traffic is good and get straight to work. Weather I have 30 minutes or 1hr, FitBod has had a plan for me at any moment, and taking into account my past workouts to judge which muscles to work on.

I can set up which gym and equipment is available which takes the guesswork out of substitutions. I have my work gym, hotel gyms, and apartment gyms, each with wildly different weight sets and busy times. I’ve learned that FitBod is reliable and the team keeps making great updates. Despite all this time, they’ve gotten better instead of becoming abandonware.

  • Could have been 5 stars

Among all apps I’ve tried, this app is perfect for my needs. I like that I can choose which equipment are accessible to me and the app will tailor the exercises based on the availability of equipment. I also like that I can substitute exercises. Best of all, I love that I can track my progress where I can log the reps and weights that I have performed. It’s the best fitness companion app and it’s easy to use.

Why 4 stars? I wish I can log my other exercises such as pilates, yoga, boxing, and more. I only log exercises based on the exercises available in the app. Because of this, I am not able to log the other exercises that I am doing. It doesn’t give justice to my other efforts.

  • Failing

Used to be okay. Too many bugs. Both phone and watch are updated but no improvement to functionality. Phone to watch doesn’t sync so you end up logging 2 workouts. Opens to the same workout every time so needs to be refreshed to get variation. Sometimes just fails mid workout so you loose your workout data. It’s a very good app when it works, particularly as I have a home gym and it helps track based on what equipment I have to use. But will be considering other options based on recent performance.

  • Best gym app ever

It offers routines and it tells you which muscles the exercise targets. You can add exercises or remove them. You can update weights or reps. I like that ot also has calisthenics exercises as well as gymnastic rings which are my favorite. One recommendation would be to improve the gymnastic ring and tree set of exercises because there are many more we could do and at more advanced level too.
