  • Fantastic App!

I’m an avid fitness enthusiast but when I decided to take a break from CrossFit I felt a bit lost as to what to do on a consistent basis. Enter Fitbod! It’s so convenient to have a full workout planned and ready anytime I am and it takes in consideration of muscle recovery which is awesome! I do wish there was the ability to quickly enter if you have an injury and the app would adapt your workout based off your input. Recently having a bit of tennis elbow I’m constantly having to modify or skip exercises to allow it to rest. Also being able to specify the type of lifting bar being used (weight) along with quantity would be great. Often times I find super sets that use the barbell that maybe have one exercise at 100 followed immediately by one that is 215. I am always scrambling between sets to pull or add weights. In the grand scheme of it all these few tidbits of feedback are minor inconveniences and not ones that detract from how great this app is. Of your reading this quit thinking about it and just download it and GET TO WORK! Happy fitnessing!

  • Fantastic app, game-changer for my workouts

I’ve been going to the gym consistently for years, but my workouts were starting to feel boring and stale. I was stuck lifting the same weights and because I didn’t have anything to work towards, my consistency was slipping. I’d tested all of the other apps like Strong, but they still required too much effort from me and so I couldn’t build a habit. What I like about FitBod is it’s the first app I’ve used that feels like I’m paying for a personal trainer. I set my Push/Pull/Legs session up and tell it what I like and don’t like, and then it does the rest. I use the widget on my Home screen to remind me what workout is up next and when I’m in the gym, my Apple Watch tells me what to do, how much to lift and how long to rest. It’s honestly been a game-changer. The price is more than worth it for me when I consider the price of my gym membership or a PT.

  • Started great but has grown more buggie

I have been a user and of Fitbod for i believe three years now. During my first year of use it was great. Workouts had a nice layout and the all routines made sense. After some updates and a increase to have a membership I have found my experience using the app becoming a chore. Where before it was thoughtless now is a pain.
Exercises/ equipment I once excluded for a gym profile appear in my workout. Workouts that are the exact same, but for some reason are named differently are given in the same workout. They workouts available to log are still somewhat limiting. And with this limitation there is still no way for you to create a exercise log to track your progress.
As a side don’t even bother trying to log your workout through your Apple Watch. Multiple times I have to sync up my watch and or phone to be in line with one another. If say I complete a set and input that into my watch my phone will then not have the set logged and vice versa.
I hope things improve with the updates that are promised to come but with this track record I wouldn’t be surprised if things continue to get taxing for the user to operate.

  • Great App for Consistency

I have been working out on and off since high school (30 plus years). However, finding the consistency and motivation has been challenging. I have read countless articles about different weight lifting plans and have tried / failed at most of them. Fitbod, however, changed all of that. When it comes to using this app, I never have to think about what exercises I should do because it does the work for me. You are able to pick workout types based on preference. For example, push/pull, upset body/lower body, full body, etc. each exercise is also explained and demonstrated to cover different learning styles, visual, kinetic, etc. the app keep track of what you did in the last workout and applies weight suggestions which can always be Chandra up or down depending on how you are filling. There is also a countdown between sets and finished workouts can be posted to different social media sites, Strava for example. Yes, this site does make suggestions to share the app with others, to post personal records, etc., in an attempt to attract more users. But, it’s simple as hitting the X or saying no if that’s not your cup of tea. All in all, for what you get, the paid version is worth it to mr and, after my year subscription is up in the next few weeks, I will be re-upping for another year. You can tell they put a lot of thought into this app and this is my jam for sure. Consider giving it a try. Be a better you like I am becoming a better me!

  • Fitbod Fanatic

This app has completely changed my life! I can’t think of a workout without it. I travel a lot for work and I have my regular gym at home and also an apartment gym for my place in Dallas and it is so nice to have a workout plan with the equipment available. There isn’t a single thing I would change but have some requests for future enhancements!! Please please have a setting for active rest days! I lift 5 days a week but 2 days are cardio only. I want to use Fitbod for the cardio only days but I don’t want a strength training included because sometimes I like the workout and want to save it for tomorrow. For instance, I split. So today is an active rest day but Fitbod plans an upper body workout. So I do the cardio and stretch only today but now tomorrow is showing as a lower body workout instead of me working out uppers. That small change would make a huge difference! Also, heart rate! Please please please add functionality to allow for it to record our heart rate during the workout. Where the from the Apple Watch or similar or my preferred polar strap!

  • Paid for pro version but am still locked out. No reply from support after 7 days.

I upgraded to the elite/pro version on an annual plan but the app won’t register the upgrade (I’m still stuck on the free version so can’t record a workout). Makes it useless.

It took me 7 days to get a reply from customer support who just said they couldn’t find my account. I’ve given them all my details including payment receipt.

Disappointing as I really enjoyed the trial of the app. Will look elsewhere if it doesn’t get sorted shortly.

  • Uncomplicated, user friendly exercises

Have thoroughly enjoyed using this app and am very happy to recommend it. As long as you set your profile up correctly, you can’t go wrong. Some demo videos are questionable, but get advice from real people before using on your own & you’ll be fine!
  • Everything I’ve wanted in a fitness app

It’s like my prayers were answered when I found this app, it’s everything I’d been looking for in one place. It gives you countless options so you don’t keep redoing the same exercises, keeps track of your progress and notifies you when it’s time to workout. Everything is completely customisable too. I never subscribe to apps but this one is definitely worth it. I look forward to using it in the next 12 months!

  • Affordable and Practical with Results

A year ago I began my fitness journey determined to better understand my body and perform exercises that would help me to reach my goals. Like most beginners I had absolutely no plan or structure, but this app gave that and more. The workouts are designed to fit your desired goal based off of your available equipment. The ability to personally tailor my workout program to any setting has allowed me to workout out practically anywhere. The pandemic has forced me to workout from my garage but in the past year I have accumulated more and more plates, dumbbells and equipment while simultaneously updating my available equipment on my app to set workouts and honestly I have had no need to join a gym. You will get stronger and you will see results so long as you stick to your goals and follow the apps instructions. My technique and form has improved tenfold and my strength has increased making every day tasks seem like nothing. I could write a whole essay on why you should download the app but it is definitely worth the trial and subscription if you are serious in pursuing any workout program. This app is a perfect supplement to any workout program or goal. 10/10 would recommend.

  • Exactly what I wanted

Three stars because of what I mention at the end of my review. Hopefully that gets the dev’s attention. Otherwise the app deserves 5 stars.
Beautiful interface, great exercises, easy to use, explains exercises well with good videos, tracks all the things I want. Super happy. Two improvements I really want are for the ‘Log Set’ button to be about three times bigger - it’s annoyingly easy to miss while you’re working out, and the other improvement is that sometimes when entering the rep count for a max effort set, the rep field automatically tabs across to the weight field after typing one number even though I’m trying to type a two digit number. Definitely an annoying little bug when you’ve just completed a max effort set and you don’t want to be bothered by your phone.
