  • Stopped updating my lists

All of a sudden, it has stopped updating my lists.

Hi Donald Lemondrop, do you have more details about the issue? Maybe there was a momentary error back then. Everything should work fine currently if you want to give another try. Have a nice day :)

Hello haywvczu, I’m sorry for seing your comment only now and that Bolt didn’t work for you. Did you enable Bolt in your Safari settings after downloading the blocker lists? If so it should work directly (or after a few minutes depending on your device). Let me know if you try again. Have a nice day!
  • Not for iPad...

Works well only iPhone, but has no effect on the FB ads on my iPad. IOS 15, iPad 7th gen.

Hello kurmujjin, thanks for your feedback. Are you talking about the application Facebook? If so, please note that extensions such as Bolt are only used by the system in your web-browser Safari. Have a nice day!
  • Blocks ads well

I was looking for a simple ad blocker that worked with safari. This was the first app to that blocked YouTube ads without any hassles. I was finally able to drop chrome and get back to safari!
  • Does the blocking, but noticeably slows down browsing

I tried the app and it’s great that it’s open source and it does work. However, in my experience (on an iPhone 12 Pro Max), even with some (not all) filter lists turned on and enabled in Safari, browsing the web slowed down noticeably. This has not been the case with another open source as blocker available on the App Store, which leads me to believe it is specific to Bolt. Ostensibly, Bolt is pretty heavy on the CPU, which slows down page loading. Would be great if this was improved, as otherwise this is a great app.

Hello markjurkovic, thanks for your feedback! Bolt downloads several sets of content-blocking rules that are used by the iOS system directly within Safari when activated, therefore the app itself can't have an impact on CPU. However the rules might be improved for some websites: 1. If you haven't done it already: try to download newer list from the application (I update them from time to time) 2. If the problem persist and it is specific to some websites, maybe you could tell me which in order for me to have a look? Have a nice day!
  • Simple and to the point!

Great App, does what it says it’ll do and blocks all those pesky ads so you can’t complain 👍

Hello Wonesu! It's been two years... I know... Better later than never! In case you are looking to try my app again I just delivered an update reworked from the ground up. Instructions should be clearer and therefore you be able to use it easily. Let me know if you have any feedback about it. Thanks!! :)
