Disappointment
Chowbus has been my go to app for all foods Asian. Convenient and competitive prices. As of today I will stop using and delete the app. I had no qualms with Fantuan acquiring or merging with Chowbus. Accepting that it would benefit both companies in the low run. As a customer that uses this product I am completely disappointed. Why is there fees being charged for pickup?? If I am charged for delivery, that is completely understandable. Membership only decreases fees by half. At this point I rather use a competitors app or not use any app at all. Ex: drink costs $4.50. After taxes it should be give or take $5. Supposedly 70% off on drink. After subtotal with fees it ends up being more costly than when there is discount applied or no discount in place at physical location.
Whether there is a discount or not, it costs more to use the app to order than I ordering in person now for every thing on the app. I will go back to using other apps that have less choices and only charge me when I need delivery and not on pickup.Show lessPrice difference as extra charging
When I almost order my items, I noticed that the items prices changed $1 when switched delivery to pick up. Yes, the items’s price, not the total. I chatted with the customer service and their superior department answer was: the $0.5-$1 markup are the fees that go towards supporting the platform and takeaways. Those should have included in the ‘taxes and “fees”’, and not in the price of the actual item. Because that makes up the subtotal, and the taxes and fees percent charges the price of the subtotal. Imagine you order a large order… if those extra money are for the platform and others (which should be included in the “taxes and fees”), they should have make a description there, and not including without our awareness. You guys may have charged extra money from the past when ordering. Since I have also ordered many times here. I gave 2 stars because the customer service was ok and the attendant was polite, if not I will only just give 1 star. I hope this issue can be solved soon because it relates to my money. I won’t dare to order anything next time if it still charges me extra money that were not in my awareness.Show lessDo not use this app
I downloaded this app to use the $10 off new users and from the beginning this app was frustrating to use as the customer service is very slow and not reliable, I ordered desserts from a place and it was an option to get but after I had placed an order the restaurant called to say the desserts weren’t suppose to be an option there and that they can not give me them so they would give me a refund on those desserts. Fast forward a month still no sign of refund for the desserts so I looked online and some said that that restaurant refuses to give refunds and usually give store credit, so I checked for store credit and no credit was found, turns out the place I ordered from the place goes completely nonexistent. I also checked for email receipts and I never got one from the app so there was no way for me to prove the amount of $ I should have been refunded.
Will not be using this app ever again, don’t waste your time or money here nothing is clear set or managed properly.Show less
