Poor Controller
The idea of being able to automatically water is a great system. But the controller that comes with the system is either a cheap product or it does not have enough wifi signal strength to reach as far as advertised. Even while in the house I have trouble connecting to the controller
Horrible App!
I was looking forward to using this app on my phone to control my lawn sprinklers. Rainbird is a big company, surely they have made app sprinkler control easy and bug free? Not! They need to start again and redesign this app and test it in the real world with real non employees to get some honest feedback on usability and flush out the many, many bugs. I will be returning my RC2 and trying another brand. Disappointing and hard to believe for such a huge name in the irrigation business.

Only allows one household user
Works well for the person who is connected to the app, but it only allows one person in the household to be connected at a time. I set up my account first, but we had to disconnect me from the required wifi setting in order to connect my husband, and we’d have to do the reverse if we wanted to connect me again. The irrigation company told me after we had it installed that this happens to about 50% of users.

Zone
You can not edit zone time setting, if you wants to run only one zone in morning and evening you can no do that. Its always run with evry zone thats not good

So far - I am impressed with the rain bird controller and sprinklers. The Wi-Fi dongle has to have a full Wi-Fi signal to work at 2.4 GHX to work. Which was a problem for our set up initially. We had to buy other Wi-Fi extender that had to right next to rain bird control unit. It would have been easier for use to pug and cat 5 cable into controller . Most internet base devices give you the option either Wi-Fi or hard wired. As we all know the better option is hard wired - Cheers Nick

RC2 controller is junk
Cannot get RC2 controller to shutoff when a start a manual cycle. I change settings and it not remember setting that have been input an saved. Watched videos and have read manuals. RC2 controller is junk. Do not buy I have to return the one I have as I cannot trust it to perform simple watering. I already have a Rainbird irrigation system for years at my cottage and have had no issues but the RC2 is junk.

Rain bird
Will not stay connected to wifi .
Date/Time Error
Date/Time won’t advance in my Rainbird app when I look at controller info, although programs work as programmed. So I have a confidence issue that at some point my programs will be all confused and not work as programmed. I’ve had the ESP-ME3 controller for two years and been very happy with it. I recently had WiFi issues in the house and all were resolved. Then had issues bringing my RB controller back online but finally did it including reloading my RB app, and moving one of my WiFi nodes real close to the controller in the garage. The date/time matter is my remaining issue and trust me I have poured over many websites and videos but nobody addresses this matter. Will have to call RB support if I can’t figure it out.

iPhone 10xr
I have two iPhone 10xr’s and the app won’t connect on either phone. I also have a iPhone 11 and a ipad and the app works properly.
