Classix IS BLOCKING THREE (3 !) of my Movies ❗️⚠️

I like the Films Overall. 🙂 NB ! - But WHY ARE THREE (3 !) FILMS of my Preferred Choice (All Different themes!) BEING BLOCKED ⁉️⚠️ The Developer Brian Coleman Seems to Be Uncontactable ❗️🚷 I Emailed him Twice but got NO REPLY ! 🤐 The app says there have been Recent Bug 🐜 Fixes- But this IS ONE BUG 🐛 THAT HASN'T YET BEEN FIXED ❗️❌ IF such Absurdly INEXPLICABLE 🙈 BLOCKAGES CONTINUE to Occur 🚫 I’LL want my Money BACK❗️💰 Australia 🇦🇺

The app is broken

The app barely functions. Pressing the download button makes a movie indefinitely unplayable, even if you delete the download. I would love it if this app worked, but alas it seems I have wasted ten dollars.

A treasure trove of classic entertainment!

I’m so glad I found this App! All of the big streaming services never focus on classic films and Television. I was more than happy to pay for the full experience (No subscriptions!) and enjoy countless hours of awesome entertainment from a bygone era.

To whomever created and maintains this App, well done! And please keep up the good work! I use Classix daily. Thank you!

Image Quality Problem

I tried watching “Angel on My Shoulder” (1946) on Classix and Tubi, which had the same incredibly blurry image with ghosting and bouncing around the screen. However, upon watching it on Plex, I was pleased to find a clear, stabilized image in which faces were actually recognizable and there wasn’t any ghosting of the images. Of course, there’s the irritation of commercial advertising, which many of us grew up having to watch before VCRs made fast-forwarding possible, but the image quality makes it worthwhile. This review is based on this first movie that I’ve tried, so I don’t know how applicable it is to other 1940s movies. I probably can’t update this review after comparing several other movies, but I’ll try to add a further review after additional comparisons that will enable to settle on a single app for classic movies. I don’t know whether Criterion offers this same movie, but the subscription price makes it quite prohibitive when I subscribe to eight other major streaming services already. Others state that the Criterion and MUBI (possibly the same developer) apps are unreliable, with unresolved buffering, so a subscription to those services would be unthinkable.

WHOA!!! 🤯

As a longtime user of this app (literally, since the beginning), I’d have to say this most recent update—with its revamped UI and many bug fixes—is one for the books! It took me about a minute (on my tv) re-train my muscle memory on the new UX, but once I learned the layout, it was smooth sailing once again. I also love how these classic gems are randomly posted front and center so you can always find something new.

And, I never thought I see the day… Classix on Watch! Funny enough, the day the update came out, I was somewhere that I had to wait longer than expected, and my phone battery was low. I usually play games or use the WatchTube app… but, that day, I was able to stream some 30’s “classix” right from my watch. I gushed with glee! LOL 😁

The classix never die!

Missing Content

Some of the movies (Frankenstein etc) don’t play the whole movie, for instance Frankenstein is missing around 15-20 minutes
Wish I read reviews before I paid for membership

fantastic app, so great watching historical movies

thanks for creating a service like this restoring old shows and movies, I prefer classic movies

Could use a bit of improvement

I've just discovered this app and overall, I like it quite well. My only issue is that it needs work on accessibility with voiceover. Please remember that visually impaired people enjoy Classix as well. Visual aspects could be improved with verbal descriptions. audio description could be added to movies and TV shows.

Good but no way to contact support

My first experience of Classix was pretty positive, and I’ve watched a dozen or so films after deciding to pay for the unlimited access.

One of the classic TV series I was looking forward to watching was Wagon Train, but after paying for the app I can only see 3 episodes, when there were 8 seasons in total. What happened to the rest of the episodes?

Well, I tried to ask by going to the help site, but it’s locked for new support tickets. Also, the site’s privacy policy isn’t working. So my experience is much less positive now than it was, and while there are a lot of old films available, a lot of the TV shows look very patchy and incomplete - and ultimately there is no way to contact support. A shame.
