Awesome App!
I was introduced to this modeling app by one of my college teachers and it’s great. I found it to be quite easy to pick up but there are some features that I’m still trying to get used to. I highly recommend watching the tutorials offered!
One of the most important aspects of my first design was color. In the free version you can only test the color but not fully apply so that was a bummer. I further investigated the free trial that was being offered and I even considered the subscription, but as a college student, that was too much money. On to the point, I found that they offered 1 year of the Pro version for FREE for educators and students. I filled out the form and provided my school ID. I did that last night and I got a confirmation email this morning! The team was super fast in replying!
I highly suggest applying for the FREE 1 year if you’re someone who is using this in school!

Shapr makes CAD PAINLESS!
I have been using Shapr to supplement my 3D workflow recently and i cant say enough good things about it! Coming from AutoCAD / SketchUp / Vectorworks, Shapr hands down re-invented the way we should be working in 3D. If you are working on a singular model Shapr kills the rest of the CAD platforms in terms of speed, reliability and functionality. Where Shapr doesn’t do well is when you are trying to model many objects in one single file for example lets say a theatrical production set design. Understandably the iPad has limits and I imagine that as the hardware gets better Shaprs amazing team of Developers will follow in expanding the capabilities of what the software can do. I’m currently using Shapr for jewelry design, and it has improved my time to product by 2x. My simple workflow is Shapr to Adobe Dimension to get a quick render, then off to Rapid prototyping. Our manufacturers love the models they get, with little to no tweaking needed to go to a 3D printer. THANK YOU SHAPR!

Mind blowing capabilities.
Recently bought a 3D printer. Downloaded a bunch of files to print but none of them were exactly what I wanted. Tried a bunch of free computer based programs to 3D model. All of them a challenge to use. Played with this for the free period and WOW. amazing what it can do. Design it here, export it to printer program and print it.
YES - it does require a Apple Pencil. Not the apps fault if you don’t have one or don’t want to get one. It provides a lot of extra capabilities.
YES - it is a subscription program. That said it would take you 10-20 years of subscription payments to equal what a similar program would cost on a one time payment
Watch the videos and then just play with it.

Best 3D design app, Worst subscription options
This is by far one of the best apps I have ever used for 3D modeling. I have been learning with fusion 360 for awhile now and I find this to be so much quicker and easier to use. Using fingers to move and the Apple Pencil to work makes it very easy to move when you want to move and draw when you draw and not have one mixed with the other.
It does have one flaw though, the price. First off, the free version only lets you save 2 designs, but all tutorial and even example designs count as your saved designs, that means if you want to use the free version you have to delete any tutorials or examples. If you actually want to use it you have to get the subscription. Which would be fine, honestly with all the crafted tutorials that do such a great job showing you how to use the app I think it deserves it, but not for the $300 they are asking for. I would happily pay $10 or around that ball park a month for a medium tier, and it surprises me they don’t since the questionnaire you fill in at the beginning asks if you are using it for a hobby or if you never 3D modeled before. If its only geared to professionals and you don’t want hobbiests using it then why even asking they are one? I am not even asking for you to make all the features free like fusion 360 does, just a lower cost for non-profesionals if you really do want hobbiests and non-pros using it as well

Awesome if you’re a pro, too expensive for a hobbyist
First things first: this app is excellent! If you have an iPad that’s compatible with a Pencil, and you need an amazing CAD application, Shapr3D is hard to beat.
However, as some other people have noted, while compared to other CAD solutions for professionals Shapr3D is quite reasonably priced, it is too expensive for casual use.
Sure, there is an STL export function in the free version, but only of limited resolution. Anything with a curve comes out too blocky to be useful. If there was a subscription level for “I’m a complete hack but I use a 3D printer” that basically just enabled high resolution STL export, I’d quite likely pay it.

Well worth the money
This is a really professional 3D modelling application, made even more amazing by the fact that it works on something like an IPad Pro.
It has very specific requirements due to the processing power required and the requires an Apple Pencil. If your iPad meets these requirements and you want to explore 3D modelling then this is worth getting. If you want something for an iPad without good graphics processing power and without requiring Pencil input then don’t bother downloading and this is not the application for you.
The free version gives you enough to explore and learn though if you intend to use this application seriously be prepared to pay the subscription price to unlock the additional features.
There should be a user warning with this app ... it is highly addictive and you may end up wanting to draw everything thanks to its highly intuitive 3D drawing interface.

Brilliant
I couldn’t get my head around CAD. Tried a bunch of desktop CAD software and still was scratching my head. Then thanks to a 3D printer forum, found Shapr3D and started my “journey” with CAD. Sharpr3D is rated so high for one reason, it’s actually brilliant. One massive plus is that you can edit STL files with relative ease (obviously dependant on what you actually need to do with said STL’s). The tutorials are fantastic, and the learning curve is no where near as steep as some of the desktop software out there. Unfortunately, I’ve just cancelled my subscription - as my knowledge of CAD has increased and am moving on to Fusion360, but Shapr3D is a program that I’ll keep on my iPad and won’t hesitate in recommending to anyone. Absolutely fantastic piece of software! Excellent work!

Recommend this software.
I saw this program on Facebook, and my first thought was O just another new program. But I was wrong, after downloading and taking one of the tutorials I’m convinced it will help me design new parts for my 3D printing endeavour.
Money grab for life
I understand 3d tools are programming intensive and cad software is expensive. I also understand the real reason they charge so much is because they know cad is mostly being used by professionals so they charge more.
I subscribed and paid over 300$ for this app and created a number of designs. But it is no longer useful to me so I ended my subscription.
I also understand the limitation on the free trial is you may not create more than 2 designs. This applies to free trial users. So what happens when you decide to stop subscribing becuase you are finished with the software (and because it is just ridculously expensive)?
THEY GO BACK AND LOCK ALL YOUR DESIGNS. So what did I pay for in the last year? Rental? And do I not own my own designs? I paid the subscription to create more within that year so I should be able to continue to access those creations with the simple restriction that I CANNOT CREATE ANYMORE, AS THE software limitation specifies.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE PAYING HUNDREDS ANNUALLY JUST TO CONTINUE TO ACCESS YOUR OWN WORK.
Shapr this is unacceptable. I would have been a returning customer when business picks up again but you can forget it now.

Easy to use but expensive
It took be 20 minutes to master the app, but as for the hobbyists, I find it very expensive and I went with a cheaper apps.
