## What is 11+ VR Methods & Techniques?

This App contains the Methods & Techniques required to answer 21 Verbal Reasoning question types asked in 11+ Exams.

With over 420 individual questions and a bonus mock test section; this is the most comprehensive method and technique course available for 11+ Grammar School selection tests and Independent school common entrance examinations. Within each question type,  we cover all of the variances, all of the difficulty levels, and with a generic approach we ensure that the course is easy to follow for both facilitator and student.

DETAILED TEST RESULTS

On the completion of each test, the user is given a summary of questions answered correctly, incorrectly and skipped along with the time taken on each question. Every question can be reviewed, and all questions have an explanation of the answer.

PROGRESS MONITOR

An interactive pie chart displays current progress for each topic. The user can touch the different color slices of the pie and choose to answer only incorrectly answered questions, unattempted or correctly answered questions. This feature is very useful to achieve 100% score in each topic.

MOCK TEST

After you have practiced all types of questions, you can take a Mock Test with 50 questions. The Mock Test has questions selected randomly from each topic. Scores for the mock tests taken in the past are displayed in a bar chart. This is a great way to track how you are progressing in mock tests. There is no limit on how many mock tests you can take.

About Verbal Reasoning

There are 164 grammar schools in England; 95% of them set Verbal Reasoning tests as part of their selection process. Most independent schools also set Verbal Reasoning tests based on the 11+ format.

The most common tests are administered by GL Assessment; they use questions created by NFER. There are 21 question types that contain variances and difficulty levels. Most test papers contain 80 questions with a selection of 13 question types from the 21.

Another great app from the folks at 11PlusApps.co.uk. Brilliantly described methods and techniques guides with all kinds of variations and then several questions to practice makes it a perfect app. Its a lot of fun learning the tips and tricks of verbal reasoning thru this app than studying those thick books.

This app works well, My daughter got stuck on some questions and I could not help her with the answers. But when I read the methods and techniques I realized what we needed to do, this is really important because some questions are much harder than others and the method and techniques cover them all. I have also purchased the additional practice questions app by the same author, thank you.

There is much that is good about this app: the variety of questions , the ability to set different time limits for questions and choose the number of questions attempted.  Lots of opportunity to practise different types of questions.

However, there is completely inadequate information on the various techniques required to answer each type of question and if you get answers wrong, there is no explanation as to why the correct answer is correct.  

I bought this app because it was not just a set of practice papers and I was under the impression that there would be good information out the techniques to use and support for improving incorrect answers.  It fails in this respect and has not helped my daughter improve her weak areas in VR. 

If you want a good variety of practise questions, it succeeds but do not buy expecting instruction and support in techniques.

Despite entering the correct answer, this app regularly reports an answer as wrong, and then shows the same answer as input as the correct option....this is very counter productive when trying to motivate a young child practicing for their 11+

Don't waste your money on this app as I have!
