The perfect app for running backing tracks
Multitracker has been the perfect app for running backing tracks. It has worked flawlessly through 30+ performances (since April 2021). As a solo performer (guitar/vocals), I create separate audio tracks for drums, bass, keys, guitars, backing vocals, and MIDI control tracks using Logic Pro; and perform using an XR18 mixer, powered speakers, in-ear monitors.
Simultaneous audio/MIDI playback allows synchronized control of MIDI-enabled hardware including: DMX lighting controller, guitar multi-effects unit, and scene/setting/effects controls on my digital mixer. The built-in mixer, with EQ and compression, allows me to tweak the stem mix without having to go back to the source material. The “quick save” function makes to process simple. The ability to set to the minimum number of output busses displayed allows the setup of channel assignments without having to be connected to the mixer. FLAC support allows great audio quality while maintaining smaller file sizes.
The Playlist Viewer is perfect for creating and managing set lists; and the Live Viewer is perfect for running the show (using a Logidy UMI3 MIDI foot switch for transport and position control).
I really like the fact that app features a database/file consistency checker to ensure that all required files are in place.
Bottom line: This app is one of those rare instances where a technology does everything it needs to do. Sure, all apps can evolve and improve over time; but, this one works really great right now.

Fantastic for worship band
I’ve been using this app for a little over a year. It is very easy and straightforward to use. Provides the basics and is especially useful for music created and recorded on my own DAW. Love it!
Works great!
It does everything the documentation says it will do, and very well! I plan to use it for live performances. I researched several other apps in this category and settled on this one.
I reached out to the developer with a couple of clarification questions, and his response was timely, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this developer and this app.

It doesn’t work on my iPad Air 4
Demo songs won’t even play. Just loud clicking. Control buttons in the app don’t respond. Junk unless they can fix it.
A Must Have
If you are using Ableton for backing tracks and are looking for. A better solution, look no further than Multitracker.
Essential app for cover bands using backing sequences
Great app but developer does not respond to emails.
We create instrument and vox tracks for all tunes in our repertoire and import them into the Multitracker app for use in rehearsals and shows. Most of the time, with a new song, we first create the instrument tracks from midi files using Cubase and a Korg Pa4x, and output individual tracks to mp3s to import into Multitracker. For rehearsals, if the bass player, for example, can’t make a rehearsal, the session goes on without him. For shows, routing a click track from the app to the drummer allows us to use backing sequences extensively. The one thing we’d like to see is replication among band members much like in the BandHelper app, which we also rely on. Each band member can purchase Multitracker app, and while there is a way to sync up all band members’ Multitracker instance, it is an annoying and convoluted process. Replication changes/additions when you open the app would be really cool.

Absolutely Brilliant
This has to be one of the best Apps I have downloaded. I use a Beyringer UMC 204 Audio Interface (£70 off Amazon) connected to my iPad. I wanted an App that I could use to play Backing Tracks with my Saxophones. I use Karaoke Version for my backing tracks and download songs with and without a click (or Vocal). I load all my backing tracks into the App and create playlists. This is the best bit - I can then assign different outputs for the backing tracks so the general backing track is played over the main stereo speakers and my backing track with click is played over my headphones. You can sometimes get lost when playing over a backing track and so I sometimes send the vocal to my headphones too. The audience won’t hear the click or vocal.
The audio interface is powered from my iPad and I connect decent battery powered speakers to the audio interface. At the moment I use wired headphones to minimise latency but in time I will add a wireless headphone setup. Unfortunately I can’t use Bluetooth because it’s not catered for in the audio interface and apart from that, latency would be an issue too. To improve things I could also attach a Mic to my Sax and connect that to the audio interface.
The App is great for live performances. Once you’ve created your playlist you just press START and you can then play the whole set until your playlist is finished. It even creates gaps between songs. I would give this 10 stars if I could. Anyone who gives less than 5 stars has not taken the time to work with the App.

Simplest way to route and play stems
Perfect for my needs, powerful and simple to operate.
Initial song setup: This is the most involved bit, but there are so many things you can achieve. Once a song has been setup and saved, setting up different playlists and playing songs is simple.
Rehearsal: It has revolutionised choir rehearsals. I send choral parts to multiple foldback speakers to speed up initial learning - each part hears and sings along with their demonstration recording while sitting in the same room. iPad is connected to mixer (Behringer X32) via a USB cable.
Performance: Have handed iPad to different sound guys on multiple occasions who have never seen Multitracker before. Sound guy is happy - plugs straight in to any desk (via headphone out or small USB audio interface), presses play, playback pauses after each song, songs in order, self explanatory, less fiddly than computer, sound guy thanks me. Some songs have metronome sent to conductor’s in ear monitor and audience is none the wiser.

Game changer
If you runs tracks, this is the game changer hands down
ONE major thing needed for me! But great app!
One major requests an couple minor requests... Wish the song list had a search function. With 200+ songs it’s a REAL pain to alphabetically scroll quickly when someone requests a song on the spot 🥸. Will be 4 star if that’s added... AND 5 star if the compressor ratio values of compression rate were at least shown some how 😉. And maybe a Bonus would be a low cut in the EQ section! 🤪😎
