Wonderful game!
Really love this one, i had heard about the board game on a podcast, but had no idea it was in app form. The game runs really smooth and it is really fun. squeezing in last minute points after switching a herbivore to a late game carnivore to clutch a win is very satisfying. all of the mechanics are very unique and seem to work together very well. while i normally prefer physical games to their app implementation, i think that with Evolution, i probably will end up preferring the app. it just allows for a speedier and more enjoyable experience. however, i will have to get my hands on a physical copy to see if i stand correct, nonetheless, evolution is a great game! :)Show lessJohnboyfred

I played the board game a few years ago and was instantly hooked. It’s an intriguing concept that is well executed. It’s always fun to come up with what your creature might look like, with the different traits it has. In terms of improvements, there are a few things that don’t feel immediately apparent. For instance, you can zoom out of your opponents turn and handle your own instead of having to wait until they’re finished. It’s a fun game that seems a bit complicated, but flows really well once you get the hang of it. There are a few bugs here and there, especially in terms of trying to create an account. Me and my friends all recently got it, and almost all of us had trouble with the account creation process, with it not notifying us that the account had been created or not, maybe sending a confirmation email would help with that?
I sincerely hope we get to see some expansions to the game! Having even more trait cards in play, like those from the Climate or Flight expansions, would increase the fun even more!Show lessCrow_13
Love this game, freezes a lot
I bought the full version so I could play online. However, it seems every other game someone freezes mid game and then the games wasted, when I restart I can almost never get back into the game I was in. Now, with the update, when you leave a game it counts as a loss. So when I get frozen and have to restart it affects me negatively. You’d think for the $10 I paid I could stay in game and not constantly freeze... annoying :(Show lessMizzPelirrojo
Great game riddled with bugs
I initially bought the board game because I spend a lot of time learning about evolution and the natural order of life on earth, and thought the game would somehow implement that into its gameplay in a fun, thoughtful way. The game delivered more than I would have realized and it made me excited to find out I could take my new favorite board game on the go.
I am more than willing to spend an extra ten bucks on the app for the online and ai play aspect, however the game is riddled with bugs. I’m sure there are plans to fix this in the future, but for now it remains an annoyance.
In conclusion, the game is definately worth your money, it’s better than hearthstone, respectfully, and the multiple different ai provides interesting, unique experiences each time you play. Buy it so I have more than 11 people to play with at a time👍Show lessThe kid who likes games

Disclaimer: this may be an unpopular opinion.... I really can’t care. No matter how much the wind howls, the mountain cannot bow. This is a game about evolution and therefore, biology.... one thing I find quite odd is how well they represent this throughout the game, in every way, to the point you’ll think to yourself “woah, they thought of that?! What an inspired, masterful game”. You’ll fall in love, You’ll purchase the full version, if you haven’t already, and if you are like me go and pick your avatar! Customize as much as possible. BUT WAIT!!! There are HALF as many, yes HALF, female avatars as there are male. Seriously?! And NONE of them (besides one yumpie lookin make one... he’s not yumpie... I’m just mad) is a darn ginger!!! Talk about a stupid detail to dissatisfy and distract you. Friend. It’s 2019. Was it that hard to creat SEVEN MORE FEMALES? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 dudeShow lessSenua2677

So glad you like it Senua, appreciate the feedback! I'm not following the math on the Avatars though, I'm counting 18 females and 17 male options available. Couldn't agree more with you on the 2019 comment, we tried our best to put a broad representation in with the amount of avatars we have. The avatars scroll both left and right, so try going both directions.Amazing card/board game
This game is amazing it offers lots of unique winning strategies. The presentation is great, it offers animal facts as you wait for games to load up. It also shows you detailed sketches of animals. Great tutorial so you can learn how to master this game.
I really hope they include the expansions as well. I would gladly purchase those as well. I really appreciated that you can try the game before you purchase the full version. I was not sure I would like this first but now I know it’s one of my favorite games on my iPad.Show lessrisingshadow11
Amazing but one suggestion
I’ve been playing this gave for several weeks and it’s absolutely amazing. Play through the campaign first if you haven’t played the board game like me. This game is all about strategy so if you like that I would highly recommend it.
Now then, I would really like it if there was a way to report or at the very least mute players in multiplayer. I have been harassed on multiple occasions because I am a girl playing this game. This harassment has varied from being made fun of because I am a girl, to having guys DEMAND to have my real name age phone number social media etc (none of which I gave them). If you could please implement a report or mute option in multiplayer I would greatly appreciate it.Show lessphoebethebird

Glad you like it Pheobe! There actually is a way to mute other players. One option is to open the chat menu and uncheck "show chat bubbles in game" This will mute all players. Another option is to click on specific players' names, and then when their drawer pulls out, click the mute icon on them. This will forever silence that specific player. Enjoy!I’m beyond upset...
Ok so I started playing this game once it came out iOS back in oh idk February or March ish. I had a lot of fun playing it. It’s very hard but yet not impossible to play. All you have to do is understand how the game works. It helps if you understand biology and know how an ecosystem works lol. But the main reason why I’m writing this review is because lately the game would do this me while I’m in the middle of multiplayer trying to go up on ranks to get to full University Professor (reason being because I want the tiger avatar, don’t even want Nobel laureate). The game would just glitch and then go back to my home phone screen. This happens repeatedly and it’s very frustrating on my iPhone 6. All I want is to not only build up my rank on the game, but to also enjoy it without any bugs. This is a very buggy game and I hope they fix it because this is beyond annoying.Show lessBeastMaster97
Excellent game for teaching evolution
I am a middle school science teacher and use the board game version of this game in my classroom to help teach evolution. I tell the students to be patient as they learn the game, as there are a lot of rules. However once they get it, they enjoy the competitiveness of the game. Plus, (and more importantly) the game helps teach evolution and ecology of an ecosystem. Using this in conjunction with lectures and other activities is a fun way to teach the students.Show lessmraj86
The best digital board game!
This is by far the best digital board game on the App Store. I regret none of my 10 dollar purchase, especially with the ability to invite friends (thank you for changing the old system). I do appreciate the addition of pass and play although I don’t use it since the game is free for friends (some of which decided to purchase the game). None of the game comes off as greedy and I cannot wait to purchase the flight and climate expansions. It would also be neat if oceans was added to this game in some form or another.
