Nice app
Cool app
Great app !!!
Powerful but...
If you have the patience to learn this extensive app it could become a go to powerhouse.
Was actually most interested in being able to use Universally's (iPhone version) alarm clock feature with the proximity sensor "screen sleep" ability, as my old YoctoClock app which also had the proximity sensor ability no longer runs under OS9. Unfortunately the iphone version of Universally is rather glitchy on the iPhone 4s/iOS 9.3.5.
The screen cuts off the icons at the bottom so not able to properly access or control any of those features. Some of the in-app gestures don't seem to function on the 4s either, try as I might. Perhaps it all works better on newer larger screened devices like the 6s and 7, though the description says compatible with all devices on 9.3 or later (iphone, ipod, ipad).
Also some of the screen text is extremely small as well and near impossible to read. Another handy bit would be descriptive "pop-ups" that tell what a particular icon does (especially helpful while first trying to learn the app).
Also, once you click on one of the icons and it takes you wherever it's supposed to, there's no "back" button or way to cancel out and get back to where you were. Only way out is to quit the app, remove it from the task bar, and restart the app.
Obviously some bugs to work out. A better tutorial would also prove helpful, or even some video walk throughs.
Hopefully future updates will rectify these wonky bits and make it useable on the 4S. App definitely deserves 5 Stars. Looking forward to giving it exactly that.
Response from developer
Hi, thanks for the detailed comment. We completely agree with the frustration while using the 4s. The app is allowed to run on the 4s because it's running an iOS version that is compatible with those devices. We have a separate version for the iPad and would really recommend the app for 5s or above. The reason you can't go back from within some sections of the application is thatβ the bottom of the app gets cut off. The bottom holds the ability to jump from one window to the next. On higher resolution phones, when you scroll up, the audio buttons appear along with the close button, which takes you back to the home screen. We hope that when you are able to get a 5s or above, you will give us another try. We will certainly continue to refine Universally, and will take all your recommendations very seriouslyβ. Cheers and thanks for try Universally.
