Ignorantly impossible to cancel, scam
It is disgusting how deceitful they are when it comes to explaining exactly what you’re signing up for and how not helpful they are when you reach out for help as far as cancelling. You already have my money do you really need to squeeze more money out of me when all I want to do is cancel my subscription? Working in retail for years for large corporations such as this one we often made exceptions to maintain our clients trust and alliance. I do not see why that would not be done with this company especially when we’re all poor because of the current state of the economy. I am and will continue to be vocal about how much I despise this company to any one who will listen and have posted on all of my social medias about it. Companies who run off of tricking people are soulless and make this world a worse place. Thanks for taking advantage of me and squeezing the little bit of money I have out of me tovala!!

App has issues
This review is strictly about the app. We have only had our oven for about a week and have yet to receive our first shipment of food, however, I have been attempting to associate custom recipes with barcodes for things like Texas toast. In this regard I am able to scan the barcode of the box, but clicking the assign recipe to associate the barcode with a custom recipe does absolutely nothing. in other cases, when searching through the chefs meals, section of the app, on occasion, tapping on a recipe, will bounce to the recipe, but then immediately bounces back to the food list. I can see how these two features would be absolutely useful to use through the application, and I’m disappointed that I’m having these issues. I hopethat the developers can track down and replicate these issues, and get them fixed in the next update.

Great App with a New Bug
While I haven’t used the app to actually cook any meals or order from the marketplace, I’ve found it very easy to check out upcoming meals, ingredients, make my selections and enter my ratings. One thing I’d like to see added to the ratings option is the ability to add feedback, even when saying the meal is “Perfect”. The four stars right now is due to the most recent update. While it was supposedly to resolve an issue with past orders, it seems to have created a new issue. All, and I do mean ALL, my reviews have disappeared and I want them all back. I’ve signed out and back in hoping that would do the trick, but no luck. I guess my next step is to uninstall and reinstall the app, even though I don’t want to do that. Please fix this issue and I’ll change my rating.

Thawed and opened packages!!
I really liked this service when I first got it. The deliveries were fine for maybe the first 4 or 5 times. After that, the delivery service, Veho, gave me many issues. One time they were not only an hour late from the time window, but they didn’t deliver my meal and marked it delivered with a picture close up to maybe someone’s skin? It was blurred and was not a delivery picture. Then I started having problems with the quality of the items. Meat was thawed out, had chicken leak all over everything, and today, after switching to ups delivery, I received my box with opened shrimp that leaked all over everything. I am incredibly disappointed with this service that I have way too many chances for them to correct. I couldn’t find anywhere else online to leave a review of this company, so hopefully people will see this and heed my warning. I’m disgusted with the quality. Do better.

Favorites are not showing in the app
When I finally find the recipes I wanted to use, the favorites heart is checked, so where are my favorites? As a work around I can UNfavorite the recipe and then find the recipe again and REfavorite. When I go back to the cooking tab My Favorites are showing. However as soon as I close the app and reopen it later in the day, My Favorites are not showing, again.
Since favorites are not showing, I thought I would use the add to Siri option. I find my recipe add to Siri record the phrase, and then ask Siri to” cook my two eggs over medium” and all Siri does is open the app. I then have to find the recipe. If I ask Sri to cook a specific recipe, can you get the app to actually open and show that recipe??

FINALLY FIXED
Edit as of v2.0.4 - they finally fixed it! And they actually fixed it this time. Happy days at long last.
For no less than 6 months, every time you launch this app it’s freezes for anywhere from 10-20 seconds and is incapable of being interacted with. Edit for dev: I’m already on 2.0.2 and it’s the same story as it’s ever been. Lag/hang on every app launch and even when re-entering app from background apps.

Great service, bloated app
I want to start out saying that I love the Tovala subscription and oven. They make life so convenient and take the stress out of preparing a quality meal.
My only gripe is the amount of space and size of this app that is dedicated to recipes and content that have absolutely nothing to do with either the oven or the meal delivery service. All this extra content can make the app bloated and slow to respond, and relegates oven operations, status, etc to a little box in a corner. A lifestyle companion should be it's own app. All I want is the subscription and oven operations. That's it. I would much rather see a real time status of meal prep (steam/bake/broil,etc.) than a chef's recipe for mussels (which is not something Tovala sells). It makes no sense.

😐 😬 Sorry about that one. One of our vendors introduced a bug into a library that we use that is causing the crash you're seeing. It was particularly nasty and took longer than I care to admit to track down. The fix is on its way out now, version 1.9.130.
Love the food, app not so much
I’ve been a customer over a year now and I love the food options and the convenience it comes with. As someone who works 2 jobs during the week this saves me a lot of time not having to cook and plan dinner.
My only complaint however is with the app, specifically with the weekly food selections. There was an update done months ago where the food selection is now on top of the food picture itself. If not hit EXACTLY the right way it takes you to the ingredients page of the food instead of selecting the item. Due to this it can take multiple attempts and unnecessary added time in order to make the weekly selections. If this could be changed back to the way it was previously I could give it a perfect 5 star rating.

Awesome oven, not so awesome app
I give this 5 stars because it deserves it, what a great product. Meals are awesome, easy and tasty. But, sadly, the app is the ruin of the entire concept. First, every time you open the app a pop up asks you to review a meal that you might not have actually eaten yet. Second, it is sooooo slooooow. Sometimes it doesn’t even work. I’ve tried skipping weeks before and it simply won’t let me. I don’t understand how such a great technological invention can have such a d*mn awful app.

Perfect for single people
Look, I never bother with reviews but I need more people on board with this company so they stick around and expand their menu. They’re that good. I’ve struggled with buying and cooking for one person— so much food went to waste. I often get too busy/tired to prep and cook a meal and I can’t tolerate fast food. This is perfect. The meals taste great. Prep is 5 mins and it always comes out perfect. The oven is great for regular cooking as well!
