Hi there- thanks for this feedback and sorry to hear the Beam experience wasn’t what you expected! That’s always frustrating. As a new startup, we’re adding partner brands and supported causes all the time—we actually just added 3 new cause areas this week (refugees, nutrition, and sports). I’m also passionate about animal welfare and am excited to let you know we’re in process with a vegan chain that plans to support local shelters. Hi there- thank you so much for joining an early version of the app and we’re sorry for the disappointing experience you had. We’ve completely changed our system so that users don't have to experience this type of frustration anymore. Previously, users unlocked a donation based on their location when they were inside of a Beam partner store, and due to location accuracy issues, we heard users were getting notifications sometimes when they weren’t in a Beam partner location. We therefore changed our system so that you can donate for free with purchases at your favorite stores. By linking your credit or debit card to your Beam account, users now only unlock a donation when they make a purchase as usual at a Beam partner with their linked card. You still don't have to change anything about how you pay, but now there's a really high level of consistency and accuracy for our users, who've reported a really positive experience.
