  • So I’m locked out of my Apple TV

I changed my network. My new network will not allow me to sign into Apple TV. I’m trying to sign into Apple TV account on my iPad but so are , evidently, hundreds of other people because, Apple TV will not give you a straight answer on how to find your Apple TV account. Without that information, I can’t get into the account to change the Apple TV network. I used to have a Logitech that did all of this, but it’s not working. I’m trying to find this information on my own, but I’ve been looking for a couple days now, and as I said, all I get are people who are also looking as to how they can get into their Apple TV account in order to change network or addresses, and for some reason, it’s like finding the holy Grail. Apple TV is not giving out that information. If you don’t sign up online and for some reason, you get cut off from your online, you’re paying for nothing. Because you can’t get in. Besides that I love Apple TV and I wish they would get this squared away so I could have it back, but I’m giving you a one star until somebody answers this issue.

  • You ruined the Apple TV box! You’re Fired !

    What a MESS!
Stop putting everything in the app!!!
Moving iTunes movies to the app, on the actual Apple TV that connects to a television, was the stupidest move ever. The navigation is HORRIBLE in the stupid Apple TV app. E.G. - Horizontal rows instead of a full grid page of what you want to browse. It’s all horrible, so here’s two things - The categories are hard to get to way down the page. Then if you chose a genre it takes you to a similar page that has rows of stuff you’re not looking for, like TV shows and other things you idiots are trying to push instead of what we just tried to navigate to!!! You can’t get to a page that just has movies you’re looking for, or just movies A-Z. Nothing, just a big collision of a mess that some dopey person created. WORST ORGANIZATION DESIGN EVER. You idiots must be losing millions per month on rentals - and this is why!
PS The genres also still stop at “SCI Fi” !!! - No ‘Suspense’ ‘Thrillers’ ‘Westerns’… And what’s the deal with these stupid horizontal rows instead of a full grid of what you want to browse ???? Steve Jobs would fire all of you idiots.

  • Store Move is Awful

Apple made a lot off of me from buying tv and movies through the iTunes app. Now, I cannot locate shows or see offferibgs like before. And not having text under thumbnails is not user friendly, as a picture is not enough for someone visually impaired.
The wishlist I had previously was a curated gem. A lot of people bought things as they checked them off their wishlist. Who decided to scrap it?
And finally, your UX looks like it was completed as a class project. It is difficult to use, and I am offended that I cannot go directly to my purchased library. Having to see your busy Apple TV service to get to my own library just makes me resentful and determined not to spend money on things. We don’t all want to overspend for your small streaming library. Raising your prices was unmerited, as you are not offering quality shows in return.
Finally, Apple itself has gone from innovative to a cash grab. You are losing customers by not being thought into your changes.
As for now, looks like I am about to save a lot of money not using your Store. Thanks, I guess. It’s a shame.

  • App is Great But Store is Unfriendly for Anime Fans

For streaming content the AppleTV app is second to none in terms of stability and reliability. It doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles but I don’t need them. Apple really needs to work out a deal with Netflix bc that it won’t coordinate with that app but it does so with most apps.

The recent porting of TV/Film content from the iTunes Store to the AppleTV app is not so great. It’s not terrible, there are many ways that it makes it easy to find what you want, but it has huge gaps. There’s no category for Animation of any kind and no way to peruse Anime TV content. There isn’t even a FUNIMATION tab. The only Anime Film access is through the Studio Ghibli tab. They make wonderful films, yes, but so do other studios. The store has become VERY USER UNFRIENDLY to Anime Lovers, and to fans of other Animation.

They also failed to add a Wishlist function so now I have to toggle between iTunes and AppleTV to check my wishlist. Perhaps they will rectify these problems later but they do need to be corrected.

  • Worst update ever

This new update that integrates the movies app with the Apple TV app is absolute garbage. Everything is harder to find and the removal of wishlist was just stupid and unnecessary. When I go to my library, I can no longer see the number of movies purchased. The removal of this number doesn’t make sense but it’s not even my biggest complaint about the library. When looking at movies in your library, you are no longer allowed to view the movie information landing page before actually playing the movie. You are forced to back out and go to the search bar and actually search for the movie you wanted to watch. This becomes impossible when you are someone like me with almost 1,000 movies owned and you’re browsing through trying to figure out what to watch. You’ve somehow managed to make an enjoyable and relaxing experience into a nightmare. I’d rather go and watch on any other streaming service with a functional user interface than watch on this app, which is unfortunate considering how much money I invested in my library collection. Fix this!

  • Apple Doesn’t Want Real Feedback

Ever notice how- in a world or ratings and reviews- Apple offers no option for reviews of its movies and shows? Why do you think that is? (Hint: Apple never takes blame or admits fault.)
For instance, if I were to review the movie The Family Plan, I’d say it’s a tired story repeating the same tropes about men. The movies opens with a wife who has everything but still manages to complain about her otherwise perfect husband. And why? Because he’s not spontaneous enough. Yes. Another woman who has shifted the responsibility of her mental/emotional state to a man. No apologies given or responsibility taken. And then, when the husband reveals who he is, his past sins, he’s it left in the cold. Judged to be unworthy of the family he served and loved. And the only cure for the husband is to beg and promise change. This happens every single day across America. And it’s so commonplace, so accepted, no one questions it. Women = beautiful and strong. Men = trash. Unless that man flies a flag. Of course.

This is what I would write if Apple gave me the opportunity. But they don’t want to hear it. Apple wants to force a worldview down our throats until we are brainwashed into it. “Make them laugh and they’ll accept the trash.”

  • Higher subscriber fees and too long to release subsequent seasons

Apple upped the subscription price to 10 bucks a month to pay for more and better content. Killers of the Flower Moon was originally supposed to go pretty quickly to subscribers, but now that it’s more popular the option is to pay to rent or buy -higher subscriber fees paid to make it but we don’t get to see it for how long??? Seems pretty unfair to me. The more popular the show, the more likely there will be a long wait for the next season to keep you subscribed. The downside is not liking what is being released and only caring about one show. Then there is what happened with the story arc on The Morning Show. The release was held so long that the story line is dated and no longer as relevant or interesting. I don’t know the impact of the strikes, but holding seasons happened before the strikes started. Where are the shows I like and new seasons have been made but they aren’t shown. Teheran? Trying? Pachinko? Not everyone is a fan of sci-fi, but there is a glut.

  • Great content, but app is missing features

The one major detraction from this app is the fact that it always wants to autoplay the next episode. It is extremely important, imo, that *every* streaming app on *every* platform, have the *option* to autoplay the next episode or not. What if I fall asleep while watching? What if a movie or show has scenes in middle of credits? And if I get distracted for 2 seconds at end of episode, bam, next episode is playing before I can stop it. Another missing feature is "Watch party". This is not nearly as a big a deal for me, but it is a popular feature. Finally, for me, I would very much prefer that when I select a show from "Up Next" section, it would go to the show's page, rather than play an episode. As it is, I can tap or click and hold, then select "View Details", which is faaarrrr better than what some other streaming services do, but still, I would prefer to just go to show's page, and have click and hold bring up other options. All that said, the content so far is all great, so not a bad subscription. I do hope shows here don't end on cliffhangers, that's another thing I absolutely hate. Other reviewers here have mentioned the service not saving watched progress. I've tried it between Roku and my iPad, and it *is* saving the point I stopped watching an episode. Maybe it didn't do this before, but it is now.

  • Not happy w/ price raise.

Sad to see another streaming service raising its prices. Some are absolutely outrageous and if u have the 8 most popular ones well for u kids who don’t know about cable lol your experiencing why we were so excited about streaming services in the first place. Cable was so expensive but now with everything network practically having its own service and prices going up all the time. I am paying about the same that I had when I had cable but my Wi-Fi was included with it. Lol idk Apple TV is great and if you can can afford all these extras good for you they are nice. I just can’t justify paying all this money and half the time I don’t use them and when I go to I can’t find anything I actually want to watch at least not more than a movie or a show. I don’t feel like there alit if greasy and actually interesting enough choices. But agin this is my opinion and I do think Apple TV compared to most other streaming services does have alit of good shows. When you get on there isn’t a ton of choices like some but everything is good so that makes up for it. I wish I had the extra cash but as much as I love Apple TV I’ll have to cancel my subscription after this month.
