  • Almost perfect

The design falls in line with everything else Apple, the navigation too, making it a seamless and easy experience for the user. The groundbreaking concept of having it all under one roof and being able to just continue watching from where you left off without having to go to different apps, or having one wish list (up next) versus several is definitely mesmerizing, if it only worked perfectly all the time. If the user watches their shows in multiple different platforms (such as Google TV or Prime Video) or in certain specific apps (HBO ;Max, for instance), their views won’t compute in the Apple TV app, which makes the entire experience a bucket of frustration as the app will send you to the last episode viewed from that app, and not to the episode you last actually watched on Prime, or HBO, for instance. Add that to the fact they are not synching up content from Netflix, and things get really annoying! Still, I give this 4 stars as it made the tv viewing experience that much better!

  • The Black Hole

One has to view this movie from the perspective of the time in which it was made in terms of special effects and production. With that being said, it’s one of my favorites from the late 70s. Or is it the early 80s? It was released in December 1979. So we’re at the end of one decade and the start of another. All in all it’s a fun movie. I was a young kid when this came out and certain elements scared me like the abandoned crew quarters with personal property left behind along with the robotic crew that turns out aren’t so robotic after all. This is one of those films that you can’t overthink about. Just enjoy it. This is from that era when everybody in film and television we’re getting into the sci-fi genre after the success of Star Wars i.e. Battle Star Galactica, the Flash Gordon remake although the original was an inspiration for Star Wars, Battle Beyond the Stars, the Buck Rogers remake. Again, another inspiration for Star Wars. The start of the Star Trek movie franchise. Ignore the science and don’t overthink it as stated above. Just imagine that you’re a ten year old in 1979 who’s seeing this movie for the first time.

  • I Love it, But…

Don’t get me wrong, Apple TV is AWESOME!! There’s no doubt about that much. I can find any show I’m looking for with a simple search. However, I wish that instead of jumping from streaming service to streaming service, I would be able to just watch it directly from the Apple TV app. I understand having my different subscriptions and everything is essential in making money (I mean sure) but even with me paying for the different subscriptions, I just wish I didn’t have to jump from app to app. That’s just my opinion. So if there’s a way for you to integrate all (or most) of the streaming services DIRECTLY into Apple TV, I can ASSURE you I wouldn’t even NEED to use any other streaming app 😉

  • Beyond disgusted!

Don’t bother purchasing any movie or tv show stations from within the app because none of them work and they’ve known for over a year and still have not bothered to fix it. They don’t refund your money. They keep you on their phone by transferring from one department to another and another and another so they’re getting paid while you’re wasting your time. Then you get the “ Senior advisor Bob” Who does his thorough investigation in moments and it’s the HBO app or the SHO app or the AMC or Britbox app ~ whatever app it might be. It’s never their fault and they never make it right despite the fact that you’ve spent all this money on their crap product and their crap service so - Apple, advice from a former customer spend some of your trillions of dollars on getting effective helpful support, and 😉 senior advisers to handle your screwup‘s for the little people out here spending all our money on your ridiculous crap products. Your “support” or lack thereof is decidedly worse than you crap products.

  • Best TV Ever….

Apple TV plus has made watching TV more fun and engaging. I’m always falling asleep to the white noise at the end of my night. The next evening I can tune in and select the program and pick up right where I left off. I get to watch my TV selections everywhere and almost anywhere. I’m still stuck to DVD’s and some cable channels. It’s due to my lack of tech savvy skills. There are ways to stream? Them? I’m just not that invested in learning how yet. Especially since there are thousands of selections of Apple plus. I’ll never catch up with all the content on this package. Original productions and exclusives are mostly better than or as good as theatre releases. I am so blessed to be able to enjoy TV at home in my own comfort and safe zone. Plus my snax and beverages are better and less expensive sometimes…

  • Up Next Needs to Be Full Screen

Decent app overall, I enjoy being able to save shows I’m interested in, and have the most recent episodes updated when a new one arrives to continue watching. My feedback is that the Up Next section should be expandable to view a full grid format with a “See More” button so it’s easier to scroll through the content you’ve saved.

The current layout only allows you to view your entire content list in a single row, which is inefficient and time-consuming to get to a show or movie you had bookmarked much earlier than the newest items. This design choice is puzzling because it’s the only aspect of the entire interface that’s set up this way, with most other horizontal lists offering the option to “See More”, and present their content in a way that’s easier to navigate.

Please fix this issue and I will certainly rate this 5 stars because that app itself is so handy. Until then, I will likely resort to other media watchlist apps like JustWatch, WatchAid, or Plex Watchlist.

  • Love TV+, Not a Fan of the App.

I love the shows on Apple TV+. However, I seem to have the most issues with the Apple TV app of all the streaming/entertainment apps I use. For something made by Apple, this confuses me. It’s little annoyances like how you can’t just view all the episodes of a show easily, you have to search for it and then make sure you don’t choose the option to resume the current episode. Also, there really should just be a toggle for Apple TV+ shows instead of having to navigate the one page. Or, make a search bar appear at the top of the page like in Music, Settings, etc.

I also seem to have a lot of issues with the desktop app on my M1 MacBook Air. The app refuses to load the shows for some reason, it loves to freeze in the middle of an episode or movie, and the app will become unresponsive regularly or even crash upon opening. I can’t be the only one having these issues.

TL;DR: Apple TV+ shows are fantastic, but I hope Apple will work to make the navigation of their apps more consistent and put the same level of detail/love into each one in the coming OS.

  • Almost impossibly bad performance

Regardless of whether I use the app on an Apple device or on another brand’s television or laptop the app ALWAYS fails to recognize where I left off on any show or movie. The app ALWAYS returns me to the beginning of whichever movie or episode I last accessed, but never to the correct place where I left off, whether it was days or minutes prior to having last used the app.

Because of the number of different types of devices and software I access this app with I know that the problem I encounter cannot be a result of a glitch in just the app for one type of device or another. It has become so frustrating to use this app that I am considering deleting it altogether and spending my time with other streaming services.

I’ve literally just stopped trying to continue watching a program which has been interrupted a number of times in order to write this review. I’m not planning on going back to the show I was watching. I’m going to try something new on a different service. There are so many less frustrating and far more enjoyable ways to spend time.

That the app (all of the apps on every platform and device) works so poorly is a joke, especially considering the resources Apple has at its disposal.

  • Is not designed well in the slightest

There is no consistency in shows purchased. I cannot access purchased shows through my library and instead need to go through the Search in the “store” or whatever it is now.
On top of that the app requires you to “authorize” computers? Even though I am signed in on the computer that I own with my apple ID and have already authorized it foe that apple ID it still requires me to do a separate authorization through the app?? Even though it is already displaying the shows I’ve purchased through that apple ID. Also, to reiterate, this computer wad authorized months ago and it just decided to kick off only the apple tv app from that registration for whatever reason. I can’t explain it because the issue itself doesnt make sense. Unbelievably bad app for something they want people to pay a subscription fee for.

  • The iPad app player needs to add gesture support

I do love this app but when watching on my iPad I really wish it had gesture support for fast forward and rewind…I always go to double click or swipe at the side of the screen and when I accidentally swipe the whole video player flies away! I don’t understand how an Apple made app can have such a disappointing and bare-bones video player at this point in time. The in-player buttons are also really quite small.

I do love all of the original content they’re putting out and the channel subscription options we now have, but the search algorithms need some work. I subscribe to a few different channels that have lots of documentary options, but searching by general subject etc. never really works. The way the search option seems to work is to just find something you already know the title of, and to me that is just a bit disappointing. I expect a bit more from Apple at this point. It should be much much easier to find what you are looking for on a native Apple app.
