  • 8100 ultegra

Just picked up 810 series. Works great. The app worked to update the firmware. Multi shift etc. however. I cannot change the shift mode on the app. Or Atleast it’s not applying the mode when I select s1-s2. Would like some help or manual write up on that.
  • Awful!

I “updated” latest firmware and can no longer connect to my bike. I did it to another bike, same issue. Now I have two bikes that no longer connect to the app and cannot be updated. Shimano?!?! Clearly you can fix this. Now.
  • Works well.

All works well. Slow to connect though.
  • What moron thinks a 25% battery is too low to work?

Seriously, I cannot use the etube software because my di2 battery is at 25%? What moron thought it would be good to lock out the ios software in this case? And there is no way to exit, you have to kill the app. What morons are designing this garbage?
  • It works people

The app does exactly what it says it can do. Was flawless for me but as a previous reviewer stated you need to do some homework. I connected to the bike, updated all firmware, added functionality to the top buttons on the shifters and added synchronized shifting settings. Easy peezy.
  • Great app but should be faster

The app works great for all of my 3 bikes(ep8 motors). All of the connected components are automatically recognized. I’ve gone through two updates with no issues whatsoever.

The reason for 4 stars is the connectivity of the app:
    - it takes a good 30s for the app to connect to my bikes
    - the app doesn’t automatically check for updates. Instead you have to click a “download update file” buttton. Not sure who came up with that pearl of UI design
    - updates take a looooong time. I have to leave my phone near the bike for 10min or so.
    - the app doesn’t automatically refresh the error log from the bike.

Overall, I’d say the experience needs to be improved a bit but the app is definitely delivering the promised functions

  • Meh

Needs to connect automatically when you open the app and have the Steps unit on.

I would also like to look at ride history on app regardless of connection to bike.
  • Passcode

Asks for passcode even though one is not set confirmed on my computer when linked, if I set a passcode it still doesn’t let me connect to my device this is after updating all components and all software/firmware on both phone and computer, then uninstalling and reinstalling clean versions. Fix!
  • Firmware update for wireless unit crashed, I don’t have a PC to fix it

Everything connected successfully the first time. Then I went to upgrade the wireless unit firmware. I followed the instructions and didn’t do anything on my phone besides the update. It crashed and now I can’t connect to my unit anymore. I don’t have a windows computer to run the windows wired connection tool. Not sure what to do. Terrible user experience.

  • No longer the worst, but close

This app used to be the worst iOS app out there. Now it is no worse than the third worst. My current issue, with v 4.0.2, is that it will connect to the Bluetooth module and detect an update is available. But the "Update all" button is disabled, and I can’t get it to update. And Shimano has no support. Unfortunately, it can’t connect to my Garmin, and the first thing Garmin says do is update the firmware. So no joy.

It used to be even worse. The appearance has improved, and the organization is somewhat more logical. But it still can’t maintain connections, and can disable your di2 bike. As at least two reviews say, if it disables your shifting, unplug all your devices, wait a bit, and plug them back in. I’ve been able to get my bike working again by unplugging the Bluetooth module and both derailleurs, without messing with the shifters.
