  • Has Potential

Homescapes is sort of a game I just stumbled on but as I got to know the storyline better, I became more interested.
I’ve been playing this game for about one or two years, and at first I kind of didn’t seem much enthusiastic about the game, and it’s only because the way you get stars by matching objects and such didn’t seem like much fun, then, they added a new update where you could play mini games, and then, ( in my opinion) the game had more purpose to it, more to do. First off, to me, I didn’t exactly like how you had extra to do in levels like, for example, bring the doughnuts down, collect cherries, break chains, and match items to get carpet. Matching (once again, to me) isn’t very much fun especially when you have to do extras, and have a specific amount of moves to do it. Second, simple things such as collecting stars to “start a new day” isn’t worth going through a level, and having the risk of losing a life just to “start a new day”.
Finally, the furniture needs to have a wider variety of colors, textures, types, etc. added to them. Overall, the game has potential and I really do enjoy it but I just feel, ( in my opinion) the game is getting more attention, more downloads, and getting older, it needs to have more options and explanations, (especially to new players) but if you want a simple, free, relaxing game I would definitely suggest it. Thank you for time! Sincerely, FeedUpWithBugs.

  • Recommend! But some suggestions

This game is really amazing. It has nice graphics, story line and NO ADS!!! I had to think before I wrote this and realized that fact. The match 3 stuff itself can get really hard though. In the match 3 there are regular levels and then there are the purple hard levels and the red super hard levels. I think there should be something when you have attempted a level a lot of times there is a way the game gives you a certain amount of skips or something like that. Especially since the whole moving forward in the game relies on the completion of levels. Maybe this could become something you buy with real money? I’m not saying I would buy it because my mom never lets me buy stuff for games, but other people would. I have noticed this thing that the game does, especially when there are events. They give unlimited lives again and again for rewards but the problem is that this plays automatically and forces you to keep playing the game until the time runs out. I think that many people including me would appreciate it if there was this sort of bank of something that keeps the rewards that have a certain time limit, so you can use them when you want. Thanks for reading my review and suggestions. I’m just a kid but these suggestions apply to everyone so pls take into consideration.☺️😁-meeee

  • Awesome game! But...

I love this game. It’s so relaxing and entertaining. It’s nice to have challenging levels. However, once you get further into the game, you can’t play as much because you start to go through lives like a hot knife through butter, which is why I can only give this app four stars. The stars in the game feel less and less possible to gain because each one takes over a day to gain sometimes. The challenge is fun, but perhaps there should be different difficulty levels for people who are interested in different aspects of the game? Not just an “easy mode” in which some levels are a bit easier, but a normal and hard mode as well. Or perhaps an occasional “watch ad to get one more move but if you want five more moves you have to pay” because it is very aggravating to feel as if you either have to have a ton of power ups or be able to purchase the five extra moves every time. Especially when, out of those five extra moves, you only needed to use one of the moves. I enjoyed the game a lot, but I want to be able to play without feeling like purchasing coins is a requirement to move forward. Overall, a good game- I love the aesthetic of the furniture, the plot is interesting and somewhat realistic, and Captain Flint is a very nice touch to the game. Just a few things that could be edited to make it more playable.

  • Love! But needs some adjustments!

I absolutely love this game! It’s fun, challenging, amazing story lines, and cool ideas for decorating! I have been reading through the reviews and see a common complaint.... some levels are way too hard to earn so very little. I have stopped playing this and garden scapes out of frustration from time to time...yet I always go back! I spent 4 or 5 days on the same level on Homescapes and well over a week now on Gardenscapes level and it’s very discouraging. I have heard of people getting charged for additional things they don’t even purchase in games before..so I avoid making purchases at all costs.(***not in this specific game**) So it’s extremely discouraging when I spend so much time and get no where. That’s legit my only complaint. It’s not bad enough where I want to delete the games-because if you keep at it, EVENTUALLY you will beat it! Then it seems the next few levels are super easy then you hit one of the hard ones that takes days to beat. BUT the idea of the game, I think, is Genius! I DO love the little challenges and add on competitions you incorporate into the games, like the rockstar thing with Austin and all that! I wish we had more options for boosters, although I will say from time to time you add in the spin wheel u get to spin daily for boosters !

Overall it’s a great game - just challenging from time to time! Great to play during quarantine and needing an escape from reality for a little🤷‍♀️

  • Too many bugs, or are they by design?

This game Homescapes is fun, 5 stars. They have designed it as you get higher up that you will need power ups to get through levels. They have normal levels, a level they call hard and one they call super hard. Each level requires thinking on what power ups are best to use and there is a way to make your own, but the designers do put in road blocks. The power ups are bombs, planes and cannons. Bombs are great unless a cookie is covered with icing, then it takes two bombs. Cannons help spread grass and destroy objects unless there is a cookie in the line of fire. Planes knockout random pieces and chains and if there are two chains on one game piece, a plane only breaks one chain. So you play the levels and if you can’t beat the level you are given a choice to either continue by spending 900 coins which buys you 5 more turns and if you can’t win again, you can spend 1,200 coins for 5 more turns, and if you still can’t win its 2,800 plus a few power ups, we’ll you get the idea. And if you don’t have the coins, they are happy to sell you some at a price. I have played this game for a month now. I’ve seen my 5 turns jump from 4 to 2, I’ve seen the cannon fire and NOT spread the grass when it should have. I’ve seen the planes NOT break ANY chains at the start of a level. I’ve seen a lot of bugs that I call rip-off when I’ve spent over $35 this month. I’m don’t feeding this money pit. 1 star.

  • Easy pass

I’ve seen these ads for a long time before deciding to try it out. I deleted it after reaching level 20. The reason I deleted it is because it’s too boring to me. It was interesting fixing up the house but having to use multiple stars for some aspects and even to move to the next day is greedy. The bank I despised. Good premise but it holds coins you earn hostage unless you pay to buy it once you accumulate 3000 or 5000 coins. There is no choice either, you watch your coins disappear. The small mini games shown in the ads are the best part but they are way too few and far between. The majority of this game is playing levels over and over trying to get the next star to fix the never ending repairs. I also found having to use stars to open packages annoying. If I’m getting a gift it should be just. There is some humor and the scenes are colorful which is why i gave it two stars. Had the earning of coins been much higher, the mini games much more prevalent, the bank either free to obtain or at least an option, the limiting of one star per repair and not having to use stars on anything other than repairs I could have seen playing this longer. I tried these match three types of games several times now and always delete them quickly once the repetition of levels hits. If the match three aspect was a minor part rather than 90% of playing these would be tremendous fun, I’d even consider paying for that.

  • On Level 1725

So I’ve played this game for a long time. I can fairly say that it is a well-executed game with consistent updates and support. I like the creative side as well as the puzzle side it’s a nice balance. One thing everyone should know unequivocally before beginning, however, is that the developers hate the players. Hate may not even be a strong enough word for it. I could be wrong, maybe it’s impossible to fairly balance a puzzle game but to program it so much in the favor of you losing is... unsurprising considering how often it wants you to purchase things. Now, you don’t have ads in this game, which is nice, and the options to purchase don’t ensure victory (I mean at all), so in a sense the game is consistent and there’s some comfort in that. The reward system is pretty rough, it does sometimes feel like an endless attempt to wear you down. You will rage quit from time to time, or put it down for a couple months, but this is a casual game. Whereas other games make me feel as if they’ve earned my business, I find the challenge of this one is seeing how far I can go without spending any money, because it tries so hard. It’s my tiny moral victory. But hey, great time waster so if that’s what you’re going for, you’ll likely stay engaged and distracted from your reality and isn’t that what we all want anyways?

  • Fun but frustrating

So I been playing for almost a year now and I’m on the 1000+ levels. It’s fun but it totally clickbait me on Instagram with the little games that I haven’t seen once after downloading. I’ve gotten so frustrated so many times I had to stop playing for a couple of days because the levels get so hard you need god to help you and not boosters. Sometimes the normal levels are harder than the hard ones. Not only that but you start by collecting 1 star per game to having to pass multiple levels for one task, which can take 3 stars per task when it used to be 1 Star per task. And I hate when you’re remodeling a room and at of nowhere something happens in another room you have to fix. Like, everything is supposed to be new, why are they making me waste my stars on a room I had already finished ? And 5 lives isn’t enough! Either give me more lives or make them take less than 30 minutes each to reload. Oh and lastly if you’re getting a gift for infinite time let us choose when we can use it. I shouldn’t have to waste it because I had work or class. Sometimes you can’t play for 2 hours at that very second. Your girl has a life too you know.

  • Ok at first BUT not fair

This game is fun at first but as you rank up higher and higher the more often u get hard levels. It’s annoying I’ve only had this game for a week and I’m uninstalling it. You need stars to complete tasks and you only get one when u pass the level. As u rank up the more stars u need to complete ONE task it’s not fair. Also I downloaded the game mainly to be able to redecorate the house and once you finish the kitchen you get sent outside to build the garden/ greenhouse. It is the most boring part of the game that takes FOREVER to finish. You can finish a room in 1-3 days of completion. But the outside has taken 6+ days to work on and I finally just gave up because of how many unnecessary tasks you have to complete just to get through one day. Every time u think your finally done with the outside theirs something stupid you have to still do. This game is only fun for a few days after that it’ll just make you want to throw your phone in the garbage. Also the amount of coins you get for each level is unbelievable you should be able to get more the higher you level up but nope they just want you to try to buy their packages. Something no game will ever get out of me. As soon as games start to cheat you into wanting to spend your real money is when it gets deleted from my phone. I recommend finding another game to play unless you have plenty of patience for bull*hit.

  • Used to be fun

I’ve been playing this game for a while and am at level 1700+ Full disclosure, I’ve never spent any real money on this game. Not that they’re not working extra hard to make you do it...
When I started playing, it was fun because I always had a chance to win. The kite will do what it’s supposed to and the bombs won’t go and destroy the next move. The rocket with a kite won’t go and clear the row with already a rocket in it, thus ruining 2 rockets.
Decorating wasn’t as hard either. You didn’t need a star to make every call and 2 stars for a rehearsal.
Around level 900 it started getting frustrating and I stopped for a while. A few months ago I started playing and nothing is the same. The power ups are there to ruin your game. One has to depend on luck than tact to win. It’s now designed to eat all your hammers, kites, gloves etc but still won’t let you win. If I was frustrated before, I’m finding it hard to express myself now.
Ofcourse the proportion of coins you win to the stars you earn was always unfair but atleast I knew that in every game there would be some move and a definite chance to win. They want you to buy coins, I get it, they are after all here for the money. But looks like they’re taking away the fun factor away from the game which for me has been the biggest disappointment. This was a good game, very addictive and fun. It’s getting hard to say that that is true anymore.
