  • Great game BUT

Amazing game but the quests won’t Load. You need to quit the game before going in to a dungeon. Not unplayable but heck in frustrating .
  • Amazing game!

Love this game, love its charm. Great story, strategy, characters and challenge.

However, it's stopped working on my tablet with the new IOS update... I'd give it 5 stars, but right now, it won't work at all.
Edit: thanks for fixing it. Took a while, but it's back!
  • Great game, iffy port

First things first - this is a brilliantly absorbing game, and I love it. It’s just the right level of challenging, with a beautiful art style.

Pity then that a lot of the interface doesn’t work on mobile - trying to hover on a debuff (circa 2mm tall on my iPad) in order to actually be able to read it is only achievable if you’re using a very pointy stylus. It’s a common thing in mobile ports, but it’s especially frustrating here.

Mostly however, I’m only giving this 3 stars because I have to shut down and reopen the app every time I try to load a new level. Whatever fix the last patch applied, it doesn’t seem to have worked.

  • Great game, CONTROLLER SUPPORT PLEASE!!!

Great game, would be even better if we could use a controller for it!!!
  • Awful, Terrible Ui

What an awful port. I own this on pc, figured i could pick it up for ipad to play while traveling. Boy what a bad idea. The tooltips show up literally underneath where you tap, and often only last while you hold your finger down. What moron programmed this? Just adding an x-axis offset would fix this, but at $1 i guess theres no incentive for Red Hook to change anything. Tiny illegible popups would be one thing, but what really just killed this for me was accidentally buying a junk item from the market for 15k while trying to tap it to read the tooltip. Week 4, thought it looked like a scouting item, was just some random crap. Sorta like this port i guess, worth a look, but not a purchase, and definitely regrettable if you end up getting it.

  • Challenging game, good fun in short bursts.

The art style is great and the music does a good job of adding to the tense environment. The stress system adds a layer of difficulty to traditional turn based combat, it’s almost impossible not to have characters eventually hit the boiling point. The story isnt the best but it does play well with the rogue lite elements. The town upgrades are worth the investment and keep the player working towards more goals. If stress management is not your thing then this game isn’t for you.

  • Great game, some bugs

Be aware of the very small size of the UI. It is very difficult to tap on buttons, and the writing is tiny!

There also seems to be some bugs that are not present on the PS4 version, such as crashes to home screen, and dungeon glitches that won’t register task completion (which forces you to quit missions, even after clearing all rooms, etc.).

Still a great game, and nice to have on IOS.

  • An all time favourite and now fixed!

Fails to launch on iPad Pro (iOS 14). Such a shame as it’s a wonderful game. I’ve waited patiently for a fix but still nothing...

    UNTIL NOW! It’s fixed :-)

If you’re contemplating buying for your iPad, it‘s time to grab it!
  • Never ending fun!

I own that game on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and now on iPad. That game is never boring. I have read some reviews about poor UI, but I must disagree with that. I find every version of Darkest Dungeon fun and easy to use. And you cannot go wrong with that price 😅
  • It now works on iOS 14

I’ve wrote this review to help the app rating there’s some reviews giving one stars just because the app didn’t work on ios14 this has been resolved and the game does deserve a better score then what it’s currently got in my opinion this is one of the best games out there and it’s nice to have on the iPad
