Perfect listen for my long commutes. There are a few glitches which some have mentioned in reviews. Using iPhone 6 and kept getting internet connection error until I turned on the cellular data for the app. The rating and bookmark features are nice to help me remember which speakers I’ve listened to. Thanks developers. ### 4/5 — I love this app, but it needs updating. *2016-12-18* I have used this nearly daily for a year and really appreciate the access to great talks; however, the content needs to be updated as I am out of Alanon tracts (latest one c. 2006) and the tech needs to be updated as the player keeps freezing, and Apple says "this app needs to be updated or may slow down your iPhone". I really hope the developer is still interested because I will continue to use and promote among my recovery friends after a little tweaking! Simply amazing. I listen to this instead of radio in my car now. I hear the stories, do "the do things", putting the principles into daily practice through right action and I am feeling better one day at a time. Every time I am in the car I am listening to these wonderful people tell their story and it keeps me feeling good all week! The only thing I wish they would improve is the sound quality. ### 3/5 — Offline listening doesn't work right *2013-09-13* I mostly want to listen in my car. If I start listening to one speaker that I've downloaded, it will play offline, but will not play any others that I've downloaded until i get wifi again. I reported this back in late winter and the developer did not acknowledge it was a known issue and I felt like I might be the only one that had this issue, but now I know I am not. I can't tell if new speakers are added, are they? It would be nice if there was a NEW section or have recordings marked individually as new for, say, 6 months. Also maybe a way to upload speaker recordings or at least recommend some. I hope the developer is planning some improvements as there is a lot of potential here! ### 3/5 — 3 out of 5 *2013-08-20* I like the app and the concept but because its an app you have to pay for I believe some of the options should run better. The apps description advertises downloading capabilities with the option to listen offline later. But the truth is I can only listen to the now playing speaker once offline and you need to be online to switch to a different speaker even though it is downloaded. 3 out of 5. ### 5/5 — Found it invaluable! *2013-08-11* I have only accessed AA speakers, but have found this app invaluable. Some of the "trappings" have poor quality, but that is a function of the taping itself, not the App. Huge number of speakers available -- not always easy to find on UTube. i highly recommend! (Side benefit: the ability to "test drive" some of the other programs here. Looking forward to it.) ### 5/5 — Awesome app but one question *2013-07-22* I love this app. The speakers are awesome and I can listen in the car. However I noticed that since using it my data usage is skyrocketing. Is it because I'm now addicted to constantly listening to the speakers when I can't be "in action"? Or would downloading the file allow me to listen without sucking up a lot of data? Anybody knowing? I'd greatly appreciate it. ### 5/5 — Amazing Recovery! *2013-06-29* No matter what addiction you are in recovery for the base is the same. This App is a meeting or workshop at your fingertips. It has sessions from Bill W and Dr Bob, AA 12 Step founders. Great OA workshops, OA Big Book Studies. In addition, I just discovered audio versions chapter by chapter of the entire Big Book. I am now on vacation and this has been my go to for inspiration and hope. The recordings are well done. Good luck and great recovery to you! You can also filter by AA, Al-anon, OA, NA and others which is nice since you sometimes need a booster for a particular issue. The recordings are clear and not static. With so many people having the same experience I cant believe Mr Huff hasn't fixed the problem or taken the app down instead of continuing to take people's' money for an app that doesn't work. I saw past the 4.99 price tag and now I regret it. The app just doesn't work. I've tried to get different recordings to play and after two weeks of trying I managed to get one to play. Unfortunately, that still hasn't happened. It almost seems like the developer put this app in the market and did nothing else with it. There are 12 step conventions and speaker jams going on all the time, so why aren't the speakers on this app updated? This app has so much potential. However, sadly the developers don't want to put in the time and effort to make it a 5 star app. I have even emailed them a couple of times regarding this subject. It is great for travel as well and the download option is perfect for flights and areas without wifi. The option to sort by 12 step program is wonderful and the speakers are the best in the programs.
