Maybe okay for a larger city
I live in North Dakota and often travel to the Northern Blackhills of South Dakota. This app, for these areas, is terrible. If I look up Fargo, ND, almost nothing within a decent driving area comes up. Yet Fargo, the largest city in the state, has a great deal to photograph.
The Capital city, Bismarck, has just a few locations listed. Obviously the people inputting data for this app have never been to Bismarck, or the state for photography trips, and didn't do a basic search. They even listed Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park three stars, yet it is one of the most picturesque areas nearby.
For the northern Blackhills, there is almost nothing, which really surprised me. They don't list the major waterfalls, they ignore Custer State Park, they ignore basically all the scenic byways. Again, it becomes a place they obviously haven't visited, or even did a cursory search on.
I know they have a user submitted ability, but after having bragged this app up for nearly a year, I expect much more. And for me to do the work for them, I might as well just write my own guide and sell them myself.
I'd give this app a 0 if I could as it wasn't useful at all.

Great App
So excited to be seeing and using this app! As a professional portrait photographer, I feel that I overuse some spots. I'm excited to find new ones! I saw some minor issues with interface. I know that this is a 1st version and that the improve photography team is working on them. I'm excited to see where the app goes!

This app is amazing, I can't thank you enough. From listening to the podcast, Jim I know you put a lot of time, money, and sweat into this. I wasn't really that concerned with what extra features came with a paid version. The basic version is worth a lot to me. However when I tried to upgrade it kept failing. I will try and figure this out, maybe it's on my end. Bottom line I can't thank you enough:) you have given something great to the community and I know it will come back to you. Finally a good location app
It works great, and it will be very useful. A bit of problem when the location on the main search screen shows the distance, then going into that location and clicking navigate, the actual distance is a lot longer. It seems the initial distance as the crow flies. Also some locations are starred weirdly. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has 4 stars, yet an iconic Athabasca Glacier gets 2 stars. Strange.
Other than that the app is great and if it grows it has a potential of being a wonderful resource to both landscape and portrait photographers.
