Requires provide personal information

Good concept, but this app has too many strikes against it to make it worth using for me. Others have mentioned other shortcomings but what sealed the deal for me was collecting personal information and requiring an email signup to use the app. No thanks, deleted.

Cannot Cancel Subscription Through ITunes

I subscribed because there was a 30 day trial. 1 day after checking it out I was going to delete and cancel the automatic renewal at 30 days. This app does not have that option. I don’t know how I can delete this without getting charged the yearly sign up. Total Scam

Disappointed

Just wish I didn’t have to subscribe to get my pictures back... from before there was a subscription system. Which I think is a bit premature since taking comparable pics at the right distance, with the right lighting is not that easy. Or there is an upgrade? I’m in one of those socialist healthcare system countries, I’m probably just going to visit a dermatologist.

Response from developer

Hi Happy to hear that you chose to see your dermatologist. The app or any other app does not substitute a visit to the doctor as is also communicated when you download the app, in the welcome email, and on miiskin.com. Changing phones is part of the Premium solution of the app, but in case you don't want to pay you can use the free trial one time to get your photos and then download them to your own storage to continue keeping an eye on your skin outside the Miiskin app. I hope this helps. You can always contact us on support@miiskin.com if you need any further help or have any comments or concerns about the app. Kind Regards, Daniel T. Miiskin Support

$4.99 a month?

$4.99 a month for this app? I’ve been paying $4.99 since December last year and it just sits there on my phone and takes out $4.99 each month. No I am cancelling my subscription. It stores the photo? For $4.99? I can do all of this on my phone for free and have a reminder for free on my calendar.

Response from developer

Hi The app does do more than storing your photos. It is indeed possible to use your phone's normal camera to take photos and the phone to set reminders. Additionally it is possible to download body mole maps online and print them to map out your skin manually. We have just tried to gather all this in one app so it becomes a lot more convenient to do all this. Premium furthermore includes: - Wide area photos to inspect for new moles and marks on your skin - Side by side view on tablets and computers with Web Compare - Skin Mapping to automatically highlight moles and marks - Additional layer of privacy as it keeps your photos separated from your holiday pictures on your phone and protected with a passcode You can read more about all the premium features on: https://miiskin.com/premium-features/ But of course, we do think everyone should do their best to check their skin for changes on a regular basis, whether they want to use the Miiskin app to help them or not. You have to pay to use

It’s really not fair that you guys labeled this app as free but you have to sign up and pay monthly to use it ...

Response from developer

Hi We do try to communicate as clearly as possible the differences between the Premium (paid) and Basic (Free) version of the app. We also do our best not to communicate about the app as being free without also mentioning that some features are included in the paid premium subscription. I'm sorry if this hasn't been clear enough. Please contact us on support@miiskin.com with further details. We would always like to know how we can do better. Kind regards, Daniel T. Miiskin Support

New update broke the app

Hi,
Miiskin was working very well 30 days ago or so, but now when I try to take a picture, the app closes unexpectedly. I’ve tried both with and without flash and on different logs.

Please inform us when the patch is released.
Thank you,

Doesn’t work

I took one downloaded the app several months ago and took one picture. I didn’t need a reminder very often. Now I try to open the app and it doesn’t have a spot to log in. I hit the log in button and it wants my email address to send an email. I do that and the email opens Safari and not the app. There isn’t a way that I can see to get to the app and log in. It’s a waste since all these updates.

Useful

Initially had some issues logging in but contacted support who were very helpful. Good app to track your moles.

Response from developer

Hi Steve Happy that we were able to sort out the issues. With your feedback, we also discovered some ways, we will be able make logging in to the app more robust, so it will be more smooth in the future. Again thanks, Daniel

Scam for your money

I have been using the app for over a year to track my moles. When I went to take a picture of my moles today, it said I was not allowed because I exceeded the amount of pictures allowed to be taken for each mole. (I have about 3 pictures per mole). So I deleted 2/3 of the pictures and tried to take another one, and it still wouldn’t let me. I also find it unbelievable that the developers have the nerve to practically force us to pay for the upgrade so that we can continue to use the app and take photos of our moles. I shouldn’t be punished for taking care of my skin health. Wish I could give 0 stars!

Waste of Money

Don’t waste your money. They do nothing but take photos. I regret doing the free trial because now I’m paying for it.
