Great Idea if it Stopped Crashing

I was so excited for this app, and I told my husband all about it. I took a while navigating through it, and started adding tasks and things on the shopping list. As soon as I got more than 5 to 10 tasks, every time I would try to write a new one the app would crash, and take me back to the home screen. It is now doing that every time I enter a new task for another item to the list, and it is getting very frustrating. I was really excited about this app because it look like it was perfect for exactly what we needed, but it doesn’t save any time if it continues to crash every time you try to use it. Will there be a fix for this anytime soon? Hopefully!!

Simply done well

I was a bit skeptical at first about the advantages/benefits gained from another GTD (Getting Things Done)/To Do List app. My first thoughts were most of what this app is proposing is already possible through various other apps in conjunction: Evernote, iCal, Reminders, Notes, Google Docs, etc.

But I appreciate the simplicity of breaking things down into : Chores, Shopping, and Payments.
And the fact that either member can check off and add tasks to their mutually viewed lists.

While many may balk at the up front cost/subscription model, I prefer their stance of avoiding “freemium” model which almost always relies on sharing your data with brokers and 3rd parties for ads and demographic targeting. The $10 for a year is well worth it.

Additionally their support team is very responsive and are willing to implement demanded changes/suggestions in their development road map.

It isn’t super flashy, it doesn’t integrate with your others apps, but it does make it really easy for you and your partner/family to coordinate and complete tasks.

As I headlined this review, it is simply done well, and sometimes we need things to be simpler.

Hello and thank you very much for your generous review! Our mission from the onset has been to create a service tailored specially for couples, and that remains the same. We will continue to improve the app based on what our members ask for. We greatly appreciate you taking the time and effort to be so detailed in your feedback!

Yea. Why did someone make this? Don’t waste your money or time.

So - this app is pointless

-You can stay organized via notes w a to do.
-You can communicate through text.
-Bills have this wonderful things called auto-pay.
-You should be in a relationship we’re you can have conversations with you partner outside of an app.

Can’t believe I almost fell for this. What a joke.

To top it off - no instructions or anything.
Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

App of the day Apple? Do you actually use them?

Like it but

I try to reassign a chore but the app crashes. The chore list itself bugs out sometimes and shows nothing. The listed items then reappear randomly much later.

“Free” app

“Free” app that you can’t even use unless you agree to a subscription. I hate these things because I never remember to cancel before it renews. They know that too. Let me try first and then we can talk about a sub if I like it. Deleted.

Great app, nice price, minimal issues

We just started using the app and love it. The app is smooth and runs well. There are only a couple things that are missing or maybe I’m just not seeing how to do it.

A tutorial would be nice, but I didn’t see anything like that so I had to just figure everything out myself. It’s pretty simple, but I also feel like I might be missing a key feature or something since there’s no tutorial.

Also I like the option for a recurring task, but if you choose the ‘recurring’ option you then have to set a time of day, which for some daily chores I don’t have a set time of day to do them. I’d like to be able to make a task recurring without a set time of day.

Those are very small issues though and I love the app. Thanks.

Hello and thank you for your detailed feedback! A tutorial is a great idea. We will also take a look at the recurring feature to see how we can improve it. Thank you for joining Merge!

Fills in our communication gap

I’ll openly admit, I forget. I’ll get distracted or busy or just plain forget. So when the wife asks me to do something, it may or may not get lost in the weeds. This app has allowed us to have a place to put down things we would like to do, or would like each other to do. It’s extremely helpful and gives me a place to jog my memory about what’s important to do now and what can be done later. The only complaint I have is that there is not a consolidated list view. I can either view my tasks, her tasks, or our tasks. I can’t view all tasks, which would be helpful too see all tasks sorted by due date. (Due date sorting is already a feature and is super helpful). Other than that, definitely a 5 Star app. And the $9.99 a year is completely worth not having to hear my wife remind me of things I’ve forgotten to do. Love you dear!

Hello and thank you for your review and your kind words. A consolidated list view a GREAT IDEA. We’ve added it to our feedback board and we’ll see how we can work to incorporate it into our overall design over the next few updates. Thank you for joining Merge!

For the Lazy & Unfamiliar

Why would I bother paying the subscription fee required for this application when the same, if not greater, level of cooperative productivity can be achieved with the Google sharing platform? Good luck getting my money to pay for a simple list I can share with my loved one.

Got fooled by “App of the Day”...

...downloaded the app and then opened it without doing any further research. Merge immediately wants to register you before you get a chance to see and try. It was at that point I looked at the reviews and then the “Terms”. From the reviews, you read about, monthly subscription fees, crash issues, confusion, etc. As for the “Terms”, you shortly run into what might be considered somewhat harsh language, but be sure to read for yourself. As for me, the reviews (weighing both positives & negatives) and the Terms were enough to walk away. I did like the concept and the developer is engaged with customers trying to continuously improve.

Response from developer

Hello and thank you for your detailed review! Merge is indeed a subscription service that guarantees our members full ownership and control of their personally identifiable information. The great thing is that all couples enjoy one month completely free and can cancel at anytime within the month and not pay a penny. Additionally, there are no ads and we never sell or share your data with any third party marketers, advertisers, researchers, or developers. Our service is constantly evolving and improving with each and every piece of feedback, thank you for taking the time to leave yours!

Needs more options

This is a great start for a couples app. It would be infinitely better if there was an option for shared lists of a couples choosing that can be named as needed. Movies to watch, places to visit, restaurants to try, clothing sizes etc, children’s birthdates. I’d love to utilize this app but it wouldn’t be beneficial enough unless it had a list tab option. I hope you take this idea into consideration.
