  • Solid Mastodon client with some glaring annoyances

Probably the biggest annoyance being that the issue link is broken - looks like the author migrated off GitHub (good move!) but forgot to update the support link in the app itself. Beyond that:
    * notifications are badly broken by design, and the author has no interest in fixing them
    * search function is hidden in a menu when it should be directly accessible
    * large alt texts on images obscure the image itself, and there’s no way that I’ve found to hide them (either temporarily or permanently)

  • Best Mastodon app. Just buy it!

At first I balked at paying for an app when you can just use your browser or another free app. However this app is totally worth $4 to a programmer. The only one I tried that actually had all the features (edit button!) and just really well done and a joy to use. $4 isn’t anything for a good app. Don’t hesitate!

  • Simply the best

This is, hands down, the best mastodon mobile app. I love the simple UX, beautiful themes, great threading UIs, support for multiple servers, loading speed… it goes on!

Worth every penny and more. Thank you for making such a delightful app to use!
  • See new toots link doesn’t work ever

That tempting link to see new toots never ever works. Not on iPad, not on iPhone. I have to scroll up to the top every time. Maybe put it somewhere else instead of on top of posts if you can’t make it work. No apps currently work well in every way for Mastodon. Browser still the most functional.
  • One of the best

I’ve been using Mastodon and other ActivityPub sites for years and the Toot! app really is one of the best clients out there. Especially if you have more than one account, switching between them is a snap. Plus it works great with other software besides Mastodon like Pleroma/Akkoma and Misskey that have compatible APIs. It’s great, well worth paying for.

  • Nice and seamless but…

I’ve been comparing Mastodon apps all day and decided to try toot! I’m not sure I’ll keep using mostly because:
-Words instead of symbols for comments, boosts, and likes. Words are visual clutter and the brain works hard to constantly process them. There’s nothing wrong with simple symbols.
-Ability to see # of boosts and likes when scrolling. You may say that’s not important, but that’s pushing your views on others. The option to toggle it on or off would be nice.
-Automatically displaying replies without the option to turn them off. Those are usually out-of-context personal exchanges. Yes my account is public, but people don’t want to see me saying “thank you” or “cool!” every time I comment.

I love the feature to change the notification tone — I just don’t think it worked on my phone. Maybe a brief glitch.

  • Excellent App

By far my favorite Mastodon app for iOS, and I’ve tried three others (including the official one). One little thing I’ve noticed: you can’t edit photos or alt text once you’ve posted, so I’d love to see that fixed. Other than that one thing, I have no complains. (Don’t forget to try the “scan user” function!)

  • Good app, one issue

I’ve used multiple apps for Mastodon over the last couple of months and Toot! has been one of the standouts for functionality and usefulness. It is also the best looking of all the Mastodon apps.
My only complaint is that longer image descriptions cover photos when I open a photo to look at it. Is there a way to either dismiss image descriptions or to toggle them off completely, so users who don’t rely on them can get a clear view of the image? Thank you!

  • Good w some bugs

Overall, good app. I like being able to use multiple servers easily, in my case a ‘standard’ mastodon instance and pixelfed. The problem w using this app for pixelfed is that I get favorite and boost counts below each post, but not the little round profile pic w link as I do for my other server account. So I have to log in via web to interact. Poor user experience. Also: super weird message at the top of my pixelfed feed (not visible though web interface) that I can’t delete or hide — ‘you booped their snoot’ and ‘stop yelling log off at my house.’ Does someone think this is funny?

  • Good, need text size options

Would love to have the option to increase the text size. It seems tiny compared to other apps and toggling my iPhone text size has no impact. Otherwise very functional!
