Nice sounds…very limited features though
I’m not really sure why this app is getting so many 5 star reviews. I’m also baffled as to why this got an Editor’s Choice award. Don’t get me wrong - the sounds are fantastic. But after spending extra money to get all of the unlocks, this is more of a sketch pad than a production tool. Loops are maxed out at 8 bars. And you can’t piece separate files together to create a song. So I’m not sure what the point is. Also, when you create your own idea, the app assigns some unintelligible name to your file for you…which to this day, I don’t know how to rename or even if you can. Oh, and there is no user manual that I can find. I’m not saying this has to have all of the features that something like Cubasis, NanoStudio, Auria Pro have. But when you’re spending money on an app from a reputable company like, I’d expect a little more. Their Thor synth app, on the other hand is phenomenal. However, calling this app Reason when it’s nowhere even being close to their flagship DAW for Windows & Mac is very misleading.

I really like!
Pretty cool to chill and work out ideas and rhythms. Look forward to seeing how they export to reason. Nice to have big note editors and constrained to three instruments for creativity.
Two issues that keep from 5 stars:
First there is no count in it seems. So the record function is kind of hard to use. Also, whenever I try to go back to the project selector after working on a project, app gets stuck on “Loading” screen. Easy fix is to restart the app.

My Favorite of the Grooveboxes
I love the simplicity and I love that I can open up the song in Reason and then export the tracks as midi which I can then open in Logic Pro and route the midi to my hardware synths. It’s a long process but allows me to quickly come up with an idea when I’m not in the studio. If they could bring in the features from Figure and add midi export this app would be a GAME CHANGER. That is my dream.

Feels half baked
The app feels completely unfinished, and really doesn’t get updated with much. Feels like there’s features they were going to add but just didn’t. It has so much potential to be a great minimal music production tool like the OP-1 but is just so half baked.
It would be amazing if you could add as many devices as you want per track, like Groovebox app.

Problem with reason compact
Dear developer my means problem with reason is the fact that the app doesn’t have enough bars at least give us 16 bars to record. and the fact you can’t export each rack separately to different iOS app by themselves make it more difficult, and there not enough rack we need you to add 2 more synth rack with more sound, and add more arpeggios preset, and add mute button for each drum section like if I don’t want the kick or the snare or hihat to coming I can mute it separately and give us option to arrange our music. But after that love the app because he got a lot of potential please make it happen for 2021 thank and Merry Christmas.

I got nothing. Literally.
Why is this app even here? You download it, install it, login to your account and get... nothing. A blank, black screen. Support? Good luck with that! Their support page is just a FAQ list of “why do I have to pay for this now?” Yes, Reason, please do explain: why do we have to pay for your blank black screen app? Oh, and be sure to check out all the people posting the same problem and Reason’s response... or rather lack there of. I’m appalled that this even still has an award from Apple—don’t y’all check on this kind of thing? DO NOT DOWNLOAD and for Pete’s sake PLEASE don’t put any money into this blank black screen app. If you really want to see a blank, black screen, press and hold the buttons on the left and right of your screen and then select “slide to power off.”

Intuitive and super fun
This is a fantastic minimal DAW. It’s very easy to get new ideas sounding amazing. The interface is much easier to use than GarageBand
It’s still quite limited. I wish it had some more features like:
- additional tracks (it’s limited to drum, bass, lead)
- audio tracks so I could record guitar or vocals
- some sort of arrange view so I could take multiple loops/sections and build them into a full song

MAKE A REAL DAW PLEASE!! FULLY FUNCTIONAL!!
I have been a reason user since reason 4 and this app has never been my goto mobile app to make music. I use bm3 and have dabbled in other daws like GarageBand and flmobile and every one of these apps are more like real daws compared to reason compact. If y’all made a professional mobile app that was capable of recording in a real sequencer, record/ audio tracks, auv3 and inner audio support, distribute mobile rack extensions ,
Add the nnxt or dr Rex to allow creators to import drum kits loops and samples. Last but not least add the audio timestretch/pitchshift feature with the movable transient markers. If y’all did this I’m telling you y’all would be dominating the mobile music market. Like cmon why is GarageBand free and offers a near desktop experience. There are a world of mobile producers out there waiting for these types of things. iPads are now advanced enough to use keyboard and mouse and connect external devices just like a computer.. PLEASE READ AND CONSIDER THIS!! - Reason user

iPhone XS... can’t open the app
It’s not just me, lots of complaints online with no good answers or support. I really wanted to use this and would have considered in app purchases if it were good enough...
The app goes to a black screen like it’s trying to log in and just stays there. I’ve tried reinstalling with no success also.
