Brilliant App!

So thankful for this app. It is spot on and there is no way we could have walked the cotswolds without it. Easy to use and reliable.

Not up to date

One of the trails we went on was too narrow to walk due to a farmer putting up an electric fence. This guide is best used if you have a car to get to the trail head. Do not rely on buses to get there.

Good views, pretty villages.

Our visitors enjoyed this walk - a taste of the Cotswolds - Bourton and the Slaughters, and extensive views. Not strenous.

A great way to spend the day!

Weโ€™ve had some really lovely walks around the beautiful Cotswolds with this App and visited pubs and places that we would normally miss. Really easy to navigate and follow. Would definitely recommend!

Thank you.

Highly recommended

Really enjoying using this App - clear directions to appropriate parking and very user friendly route maps - gives me confidence to try new routes and options .

Response from developer

Thank you Cranwick.

Better than expected!

Itโ€™s a simple app, but it does what it needs to, and makes it very easy to follow the route. You can see if you are going off the track, and the arrow to show where you are points you in the right direction. Only done one walk so far, but enjoyed using the app.

Iโ€™m glad you have enjoyed using the app. There are many more walks guide and more on the way to keep you exploring.

Grading difficulty of walks

It would be really helpful to have some indication of the difficulty of the walks, particularly regarding steep climbs.

Inaccurate and dangerous

We are not locals to the Cotswolds. We purchased the additional maps and began the walk near Cranham. The walk began well and we were really hopeful. However, towards the middle of the walk- when we were 3 miles away from where we parked- the map became inaccurate and tried taking us on a path through private land. We searched for over an hour to find a way through but kept encountering private land. There was no way to complete the walk and as the weather got hotter and hotter it became quite dangerous.
I would recommend you update the maps to be completely accurate before you cause an accident.

We have checked the Painswick Beacon walk and the map is correct. We did identify that a landowner has placed signs on the official Wysis Way path to encourage walkers to detour around his farm buildings but this is not an official change. Walkers may choose to take the short detour but we will highlight the official route on the map. Gloucestershire Country Council has provided this response on the matter: "This has not been officially diverted although the landowner started to do so some years ago to avoid walkers going through the farm. I've seen the landowners recently and they are in the process of deciding whether to officially divert. I am awaiting a response.โ€ It is always possible to encounter obstacles when walking in the countryside but I hope you try some of the other routes on the app which I am sure you will enjoy.

Brilliant app!

Recently moved to the Cotswolds and wanted to explore but didnโ€™t know where to start. Downloaded this app and now done four of the walks - wow! They tell you exactly where to park which is so hopeful, the map is easy to use and the walks are incredible! We love it!

Exactly what I needed

I downloaded this app as I am new to exploring the Cotswolds and terrible at reading maps! This app appealed to me because, not only does it have ready-made routes I can follow, it tracks my location so itโ€™s nearly impossible for me to get lost!

As I am new to the area, having the parking and facilities links available meant that I was able to literally just show up and crack on. There was no worrying about where I could or couldnโ€™t park or where I could take a toilet break.

I paid to unlock the additional routes and ended up following two of them in one day as the app lists the distance and average walking time so I was able to plan accordingly.

I also like the fact there is a recommended direction to complete the walk. I didnโ€™t follow it on the second route as I wanted to make a quick stop at a nearby pub but regretted my decision as, even though the walk was stunning in all directions, the views just before the suggested end point were stunning. So much so that I was tempted to go back!

My one suggestion would be to add some more detail to each walk so users know which ones they would prefer.

I would highly recommend this app if you are like me and either have no idea where to start or get lost regularly!
