Best story app ever!

I have never read such a interesting and interactive book before. It’s creative and somehow manages to be aware of everything that you do on your phone to help progress in the story. I just can’t seem to put this book down. I was disappointed to see to continue to the rest of the story after chapter 2 you had to pay but I believe it was most definitely worth it. I’ve never felt so in touch with a story like this. It’s a reader’s dream, to be able to actively affect the story and be brought into it yourself is absolutely astonishing. I’ve suggested this app to my brother and my mother and both have completely been amazing. It will be a very sad day when the story comes to a end but I’m looking forward to continuing this story.

Brilliant idea

The writing could use a little work- more active tense, however despite this its a brilliant example of electronic literature and I can’t wait to see more of the authors work:)

Hello B. Thank you very much for your review and for your constructive feedback. English is not my first language and this is my first serious writing, so advices are appreciated!

Brilliant BUT

This is the most brilliant app I have EVER put on my phone! I was hooked instantly... unfortunately i was disappointed to find that I had to pay to continue the game... and £4.99 just was a little steep... but saying that!! I may still end up coming back and paying for it because I need to know how it ends haha!!

Hello E. Thank you for your review. I am glad you liked the game. And I understand your disappointment. We had no intentions to make it a surprise, we just wanted it to be integrated into the plot. And instead of making the whole game paid, we decided to let as many people as possible to try it before buying. Please, also consider the fact, that it has been told on the description of the game, that it has only 2 chapters for free and IAP for full version. Hope you will get my point and will be very happy if you will decide to change your rating . Thank you.

Beautiful in every aspect.

This game immediately hooked me, from the way the screen interactions worked, the ominous noises, the individual to game interaction making you build a personal connection to the characters of the story. You can genuinely tell that the developers poured their heart out into this game and was well worth the $4.99 it was charged to play the game. Many games of this type are either A) not as good, well developed or fun to play in general. B) they don’t intrigue the player, build connection and make them want to continue turning the page to find out what’s next, this game executed that perfectly. And C) they usually cost ample amounts more than this game did. To see a game of this professional development for such a sufficient price is awe striking and inspiring to me and maybe even other individuals and I have ample respect for the developers of the game. I enjoyed this game and I would love to see more of this type, or maybe even more stories (not suggesting free stories of course but maybe an array or genres you can pick from and/or get previews of from the beginning of the book, then decide if you want to purchase it to continue the story and the lure of it.) This was genuinely my favorite app I have ever gotten and would love to see more from you guys. Thank you for the unforgettable experience! :)

Hello! 🙌🙌 Thank you so much for your good words. Reviews as yours motivate me to keep going further and make more beautiful things. S.

Good at first but then a glitch

It is a cool app but when you buy the $8.00 full story after that there is a glitch that freezes the app and then it won’t even start the page I think it’s just a complete waste of money

Amazing

I’m not much of a reader, as a matter of fact I’m still trying to get into reading. But this is honestly super creative and amazing. I love when things like this are interactive and take a whole new level of breathing life into a story. It also gives me sort of a Black Mirror vibe but in all of the good ways.

I can also understand people being a little upset with the paywall. But I mean it’s only $5 that isn’t very much. Especially for something as creative as this. I have no problem supporting people who bring something fresh to this world. Especially something I have never experienced before. So a standing ovation for anyone involved in the making of this story

I also have an idea for a future project if ever one were to come along, a choose your own adventure story with the animations and puzzle like aspect of this story. I know that’s ambitious and would probably take a VERY long time but I think if it is as well made as this one, it would be great

Only issue was user error/impatient

This app/story was amazing. Incredibly engaging and innovative way of using text and technology together. (The words on the “page” are way more interactive than I’ve ever seen in another app!). I loved the book Inkheart as a kid and this app feels like an adult text based game version (which is what I never new I wanted and needed until now!). Even the purchase you have to make for the rest of the book is incredibly well integrated. Absolutely worth 4.99, and I sincerely wish I could afford to tip the developers/writer more than 1.99.
Thank you! It was awesome and I’ll be waiting for whatever you do next!

P.S. never swipe if you think it might be an animated page. Read every word, be patient, and enjoy all the details put into every “page”

Contains inappropriate language

As a teacher I went off the 9+ age rating that is listed in the AppStore and decided to read this to my senior class at a primary school (9/10 years of age).

After reading several pages in I discovered a couple of words that would never be heard read out loud in a classroom environment (e.g. p***d off, and bast***).

I immediately stopped reading to the class and won’t continue in the future.

Response from developer

Hello Matt. I am very sorry to hear that. Please, accept my apologies. Probably one of the reasons is that English is not our first language. We didn't know exactly how inappropriate these words were. We will absolutely change the age rating. Thank you for helping us with that. I also would be very happy, if you would consider changing your rating at least a little bit, as I hope you agree that 1 star doesn't represent the books total value (95% of people who read our book are not kids). Thank you for understanding.

Really good

I fell in love with how the book connected with the outside world but when it got to the end and I had to pay for the rest it broke my heart. I know you need money but I still wish I could finish the story without paying. Still I loved it!

An Interesting Game

I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect when I downloaded this game. The concept of involving your imagination within a mobile game hadn’t been done before, so I didn’t have anything to really compare it to. While I admittedly was thinking of something more, this was still a stunningly executed game. I don’t know how the developer came up with it, it is truly revolutionary. I must say, it has been a while since a game has engaged me in the way this one has.

Nevertheless, the reason I docked a star (I would’ve done a star and a half if I could) is because of the storyline. It’s just not very interesting. Maybe it picks up later on, I don’t know, but in the two chapters I was given I honestly wasn’t invested enough in the story to pay five dollars to read the entire book. I’m not saying that the story’s bad, nor that the pay-wall is ridiculous (let’s be honest, this game took a considerable amount of work to make, the developer deserves to be compensated). But it seems that you relied entirely on the gameplay of this game, and kind of half-assed the story. I also didn’t like that I was being guilt-tripped to buy the full version with the idea that Michael might die; that’s not what I came here for. So sorry, but I probably won’t buy the full version unless it goes on sale at some point.

Hello M. Thank you very much for your review. I am happy to hear you liked the idea. And of course It's a pity, the story didn't look quite interesting to you. I totally understand you, though. Probably that's because in the beginning I needed to show the readers all the rules, and it surely hurted the story a little. I hope, someday (when we will have a sale) you will decide to continue and will see, how it becomes better chapter after chapter.
