Great Evenings Entertainment
Having finished Inside (Another great game) recently, I had been looking for something to compete with it and had downloaded almost every game in the App Store before coming across Maginary. It’s a fantastic concept and very well executed and kept me throughly engaged whilst I paraded around in front of my family in order to continue the story. My only sadness is that it wasn’t longer though I will be keeping my fingers crossed for either a sequel or another story. Great job

It’s fine.
This is a fine game. But it’s not a great game. I feel like 5 dollars is very steep for the amount of gameplay provided (maybe 2-3 hours). There were only a few puzzles that were actually challenging.
I wish it were possible to choose the pronouns our character used, from more than just He and She. I use They/Them pronouns, and constantly being referred to with the wrong pronouns took me out of the story.
There were times that I accidentally turned a page before text appeared, and I missed out on part of the story. Because you can’t turn back, I don’t know what I missed. I missed most of one of the last pages, because it took a long time for the words to appear, and I thought I was supposed to turn the page. It would be very useful to be able to turn back the pages (you could offer a “ are you sure” option before.)
People should not need to write you a letter and wait for your response to be able to continue the story if they are unable to physically walk. This should be an option to turn on or off in the game settings.
Some of the puzzles had completely obtuse instructions, while some had instructions that were so explained out for you that it wasn’t a puzzle.
I found the ending of the story lackluster. The first chapters felt like they went at a good pace, but then the rest of the story felt very rushed.
Overall, this game needs more puzzles, it needs a longer story, it needs to be more accessible, and it needs to be slightly less expensive.

An Exercise in Frustration.
I really wanted to love this, and it started out well enough, but very quickly I ran into a couple of problems with some of the interactions. First, the interaction where you need to use a compass: I don’t have a compass on my device- I Googled it when I couldn’t find it on my iPad, and sure enough, no compass. So I had to turn pages, losing time for poor Michael. Then I needed to clear fog, and figured out pretty quickly what I needed to do, so I huffed and puffed all over my iPad and the fog wouldn’t budge. More page turning.
Being unable to do what you KNOW that you need to do does not make for an enjoyable experience. At some point I will hit the Pay Wall, and I cannot see paying for something this frustrating. At this point I will put the game aside. IF I ever pick it up again and the experience improves, I’ll update the review. As a note, I’ve never written a negative review before. Love this whole premise, but not the frustrating game play.

Clever idea but the price for the book should be less
Innovative idea, something different from the other apps. Only down side the story wasn’t that interesting so I wouldn’t pay £4.99 to continue as there’s no guarantee the story would pick up.
Wrong timing
I must say I am very surprised how things turned out. At first I wanted to know what type of flow the animations would bring but I never expected to be included in the story itself in a way I began to believe that it was real. The tension it built on the second chapter really gave a a lot to think about.
"This is real right ?", "I'm not reading about someone who could be in real life danger..right?". I looked to see if anyone has mentioned the name of the character I was reading about but never really got to see it. I guess it's because I panicked. Over all, its an amazing app- it'll better attend people to read too. It's just that I'm trying to save up as much money as I can. If I hadn't wasted my money on other spendings I would've. Not that I'm cheap, just broke.
Though I will be back! And when that time comes , it won't matter how high you set the price to be. I will pay without complications this time. I really enjoyed this.

Best app EVER
I got this game while at my church, since my mom and dad were helping out with renovation, in hopes that it would give me something to do. I instantly got addicted to this game! If you already have this and are debating whether or not to get the full version GET IT!! I have no regrets on anything I did in this game! I am 11 years old and this was extremely interesting. If you are looking at this for little kids or are nervous about content I should tell you that there are frequent cuss words but other than that it is a very interesting story and I would recommend it to ages 10+. Whoever is the author, creator, or any other role in the making of this game I applaud you! This is by far my favorite app and I really think it was worth every bit of time and money I spent on it!!

SO IN AWE!😲😲
This book is so realistic!! It’s like these things come to life! And I love it!! Me speaking personally I 100% should totally recommend this to be read! Even if you don’t read books! (Even though you should) but that doesn’t matter anyways back to the review. You need to literally reed this or watch the trailer of it! It’s like a video of them doing it! The sounds are so realistic! I got so scared when I heard the sounds and I realized it was from the book! I laughed at my self. Definitely should download this book! But there’s one teensy tiny problem you got pay for the full version? I mean it’s 5.00$ it’s a great price but I love this book and I wanna continue this amazing book without disturbance. If could could lower the price I gonna consider buying it Maginary developers if you are reading this!! Keep doing what are doing!!👍👍

Excellent - Developer feedback included here
It has been AGES since I found a game that inspired me so much I had to buy it immediately. The amount of delight this app has given me even during the free play... I’ve never been so excited to spend money! I don’t want to offer any spoilers but just download the free play and check it out. Then buy the dang thing. You’ll never have so much fun reading😃
For the developers: I DID have an issue with the fog puzzle where I was doing the correct thing but the app didn’t recognize it. Thankfully, the story eventually progressed, whether by accident or design I do not know.
Also, it would behoove you to have a native English speaker proofread. While most of the translation was excellent, there were definitely still words missing throughout and one segment in particular (the train dream) was clearly a translation.
All that being said, bravo on a WONDERFUL gaming experience!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

My screen is cracked, so I cannot give 5 stars 😐
Wow, I didn’t think I’d like this at all at first, let alone PAY for it! I never buy full versions of anything, so you’ve obviously convinced me to delve into my pockets for a once-in-a-lifetime application payment, and it was worth it. I really would enjoy a few library books to be made similar to this. Or for usage of books I had to study in college, I’d have actually enjoyed the course more lol. Bravo to the creator! Very well put together, my heart raced with excitement, it was humorous in some areas, I had some anxiety from the eerie music, plus the awesome artwork/effects, all that jazz! My hubby even helped me on a few pages. I only wish it were longer, to get more of an unfolding of everything in vast detail. I think the creator(s?) held back by sort of smooshing it into a few chapters. Mike pops up and I’m helping him out, gets moving on his quest, and then he (sort of) goes back to normal life (slight spoilers). I needed more time to let the plot thicken, you got to bring it to a boil then let it simmer and allow those flavors to meld together, come on now! Then it’ll be a truly satisfying dish, appetizing to the eyes and easy on digestion! But seriously, 10 chapters minimum, or maybe an E N T I R E book series? Eh? (One time payment, if you do consider actually taking the time to read this review please, I’m broke but I liked this very much. I’ll be first in line, until then, I hope you enjoyed that $5! 😁👍🏾)

Truly Immersive
I’m going to go ahead and just say this, but I’m not the type of person who would willingly put out money for an app. However, the moment I reached the end of the second chapter, I instantly knew I had to get the full experience. Honestly, the entire thing felt like an acid trip (or LSD trip if ya know what I mean), and I probably would not read it again, but it was well worth the cost. Story is pretty mediocre, but the typography animations and the soundtrack really made up for it. I didn’t really understand how to solve Chapter 4 with the whole turning the medallion situation, and I still haven’t figured it out to this day, but the other puzzles were pretty fun. Kudos to everyone who was involved in creating this immersive storytelling experience. Keep up the good work!
