Ampere Battery Charging Check User Reviews

Top reviews

Extremely limited functionality

No tracking, no logging, no averaging, literally no tools to help make use of the data. I have analog watches with more features than this app

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. This is a more simplistic charge check version of the app. If you would like to use our battleship- get the Amperes battery charge info. It has a lot of functionality for more advanced users. Best regards, Andrew

Seems to be accurate.

I have tested this against a current measuring USB dongle and it’s accurate enough. My phone was charging at 1.01Ah and the app results said 977mAh which is 0.977Ah, that’s pretty much bang on. Only thing I’d suggest is a way to alter the iPhone battery charge capability because my battery holds 83% charge (according to the Apple battery check), so that needs to reflect in this app’s results. The app assumes the iPhone will hold full 100% capacity which is often not the case.

My bad it does support wireless charging.

I tried using the Apple MagSafe Battery pack but wouldn’t read it. It will only read wireless charging if the MagSafe portion is plugged.
Changed my rating from 1 star to 4 stars. Hopefully will soon be able to read pure battery pack wireless charging.

Thank you for your feedback and response.

Hello. It does support the wireless charging. You just need to make sure that your device is located optimally on wireless charger. Otherwise you will get constant disconnects, which will affect the test. Also, please test when your phone is charged less than 80%. Thank you. Andrew

The best onboard app for measuring draw

Simple, cheap and always there

Accurate for fast charging

This is the only app that I found capable of accurately of measuring fast charge on an IPhone.
This is something far more difficult on IOS than android and coming from that operating system this app is much appreciated.
Was able to verify if my quick charger was working correctly on my iPhone.

It’s a great useful app

I use it more than I thought I would. I bought the triple pack.
Would love if they made i available for the Apple Watch too. I have some docks that seem to charge much slower than others, just want to see how slow. Some don’t charge them at all even though they show the charging animation.
I’m using it on my 11 pro and I’ve used ampere on so many different cables and chargers.

Worst ❌ experience

Fake measurement
Doesn’t give a precise measure , also it wastes your time in a fake measurement ,
-update -

The reason , i used many adapters that delivers 18w , such as oem apple adapter , anker even belkin or other charger adapters , the given wattage wasnt stable and the least was 21w up to 25w 😂
I was looking ro charge my phone on a 45 huawei charger to see what would happen , im pretty sure it will measure it 50-55 wat 🙏🎧

Update to your update. Thank you for clarifying it to me why you think that there is an issue. While it looks too high for me as well, that’s what the result is. Result is based on a few values here. First - your battery capacity (imagine it as an empty glass), second, we have your charger that is like a water supply. Now, we have pipe in between of some resistance (thin or thick). When we start charging the battery, we are basically filling this glass with water. One problem here - when do we know that the glass is full at 1%? 10%? 50%? We don’t know for sure unless we will use some precise device like a weights or some electronics. Now here we have Apple with their iOS and events that they fire each time your battery is charged additional percent up or down. So we have time between those events and we have percentage of your battery capacity charged in that amount of time. You can go online and check electronics formulas that based on that will be able to calculate for you the resulting Watt and ampere values, but app is doing that for you instead. Only place where the issue might be here - since iOS does not allows for the developer to know the exact voltage currently used by the charger - assumption is that 5 volt is used. In quick charge mode, many chargers can go above that value. Amperes 3 and 4 has manual override setting for voltage in each test, so if you want customized voltage - you might want to try those. Anyways, using all the available access to iOS data, this app provides maximum precise results. And more than that - it’s main purpose is to allow you to compare chargers and wires. And in here if one will be a little to high - second will be too. But their base will not. Feel free to email to me if you would like to discuss this more. Have a great day. Andrew Hello. Sorry but this statement is false. App calculates real result that is based on iOS reporting. And this works fine for thousands of users. So it would be very interesting to hear why you decided that the result is a false one. Feel free to either comment here or contact me at support@criosoft.com to discuss it. Thank you. Andrew

A really pointless and useless app

Tries to market at doing one simple thing and fails miserably, avoid.

Response from developer

Update: Thank you for your review. Tests are not very fast. And not because we don't want them to work fast. Because all fast access was removed by Apple since iOS 10. So we use the only method that still works to get this data, and it's slow. Basically, you either will not have an app to get this information at all or have it, but it works slow. Hope it clarifies it, and if it does, changing the rating to something that is indeed a fault of the app would be helpful. Thank you, Regards, Andre Thank you for your review. Could you please specify what is the issue exactly? What you expected the app to do, and where it failed? Thank you. Andrew

Seems to work great

I really like the numbers I'm seeing! It actually shows the current's milliamperes rather than the time left to 100. And when I was past 80%, I actually witnessed the battery optimization change to a slower charging speed, which I totally was expecting.

But I have to say, please change the font. Verdana really?! Please use San Francisco. If you can't use iOS 13's San Francisco, please use something like Helvetica Neue, at least. Verdana is very distracting, and so mid-90s. Please! Everything else is great. Thanks!

Nice interface

Nice looking tool. Would be nice if it would show historical information about the tests, but other than that - I like it.
