Scarily accurate and useful. I recommend this tool to everyone who wears glasses. The best use of this app is to order a pair of glasses online without having to reschedule an appointment, or get your prescription from your optometrist. Save yourself and each other some money! Will continue to use for the rest of my life! Please keep it free!

Perfect
Absolutely nailed my prescription. A family member was having a hard time getting her prescription from her dr in order to buy a new set of glasses without setting up another pricey appointment - so I went digging around on other ways to get your prescription and stumbled upon this app. Tried it on my own glasses and it took a few minutes but came in perfect on my prescription for both eyes and pupillary distance measurement as well. An amazing free tool to have in your arsenal, and they don’t even force you to buy glasses from them - they list your prescription numbers right on screen once the measurements are done. Well done on one of coolest apps I’ve used, I might actually buy glasses from them when I need new ones just because I am so impressed.

Does not work with larger computer screens
There is a setup step where you hold a mag stripe card up in front of your computer screen with the Glasses USA website synced to the phone app. The website must be in full screen mode or it refuses to work. Six dots are displayed on the edges of the website while you hold up the card and scan it with the phone camera. On a larger computer screen, the dots are hilariously far apart and almost as big as the card. The phone app can’t scan the card.
The website refuses to work on an iPad. That would be fix #1.

Just doesn’t work
I’ve tried this on two separate occasions (the second time was because I convinced myself I must have done something wrong the first time). I get as far as trying to scan my glasses and then the app just starts repeatedly yelling at me to make sure the dots are visible on my mobile screen. I was holding the phone exactly the same as when I calibrated. I could see the dots clearly. No amount of adjustment fixed the issue either. No other directions about troubleshooting. Just the constant, annoying “make sure the dots are visible” instruction being repeated over and over as if saying it for the hundredth time will have some effect that the first 99 times didn’t. Just a waste of time.

2nd step problems
After I scanned the barcode and it brought me to the magnetic card part, why won’t it let me go to the next step. I sat for like 5 minutes trying to see if it was going to work moving the phone further and closer or I kept it still. I tried everything. Help!
It works!
I was skeptical at first that a phone app could figure out my vision. To my pleasant surprise though it was completely correct! Did it 3 times just to be sure and it was correct every time. Ordered some glasses with the prescription numbers it gave me and it was perfect!
Waste of time
Waste of time could not get it to work. Messed around with it for 15 mins in different lighting, in the dark and dim room with no reflection.

This is so so so so soooo a scam, please please PLEASE do not hold your banking cards anywhere near the apps scanner, not only is it pairing to both your phone and your laptop creating allowances, it is also requesting to SCAN YOUR CREDIT CARDS, I tried other cards of the same size, they want the magnetic strip, please don’t use this.

It worked!!!!
My last prescription at the optometrist was awful and I tried the scanner with my old glasses since I had lost the prescription and it worked!!! I see perfectly with the glasses and for a great price too! I am so happy for this app.
