Description of Breathe

By taking a few minutes to focus on your breath a couple of times a day, you are able to clear your mind and heighten both your energy level along with your focus and mental capacity. – Easy to follow breathing animations – Relax & recharge – Increase focus and mental capacity – Beginner and advanced modes – Adjustable durations for personalized rhythm – Set daily reminders – Calm and relaxing background music – Haptic feedback between breaths – Counter to keep track of how many breaths you have taken We made it easy for beginners to get started with breathing exercises. All you have to do, is remember to breathe for a few minutes a couple times every day. Two or three times a day for no more than a couple of minutes should be fine. Start with this and allow yourself to experiment and find your own rhythm. You are unique, so is everyone else. To help you remember we included some notifications you can enable be swiping left from the breathing screen. Allow your breath to follow the animations on the screen, with a deep breath in and a deep breath out, do this for about 10-15 breaths or approximately two minutes. While doing the breathing, allow yourself to focus completely on the breath and the feeling of your breath entering your body, as well as leaving your body. After a couple of days you can start experimenting with the duration, to find your own rhythm. When you master the simple, yet powerful, breathing exercises here, it can be a stepping stone to getting started with more advanced forms of mediation.

Reviews of Breathe

Great — but sound would take this to the next level

I’m a therapist and I was looking for a simple no frills breathing app with elegant graphics to share with my clients. This is it! The only thing it’s missing is a soothing sound to indicate the in breath, hold, and out breath. I love the sound on the Calm app, but the bells and whistles on that app make it too complicated to recommend to many clients. If this app had a soothing sound like Calm, it would be perfect. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and check back in case you add that feature. Thank you!

Response from developer

Hi Liv, and thank you for using my app! Your review must have gone missing in my email at one point. I am happy to tell you that I am working on this feature right now, just looking for some good background music to use. I was thinking about making a small sound, every time the breath changes (exhale, inhale, hold) so it's easier to use with closed eyes. I will make both features disable-able, so you are not forced to use the app with sound if you prefer silent. Hopefully the update will be live as soon as next week :)
