The user interface doesn’t work

The app allows you to enter your credit card information and personal details, but then doesn’t function when trying to delete that information.

Pricey but worth it

As other reviewers have noted, this is not a cheap service. What they’re leaving out is that the cost of the ride is available up front before booking, so you can figure out well in advance whether KidCar will fit your budget.

The service itself is top notch and in my opinion well worth the money. I booked two NYC area airport transfers and was pleasantly surprised by the proactive, friendly communication from both KidCar and their drivers. Our rides arrived promptly with properly installed car seats and drove very safely to our destinations. Both drivers were great with our kids – one even sang to our son when he got cranky. All in all a great experience.

App has UX issues

Bad UX

Ripoff

The app quoted me $228 for an 18 minute ride in San Diego in a sedan!! No way.

⚠️ UNPROFESSIONAL ⚠️

Came across their website and was sent to download their app then saw the reviews.. now of course when running a business not all of the reviews would be positive but for the developer to sit there and be so disrespectful to each and every person that has a complaint rather than keeping it professional is just horrible! Who in the would trust this company with their children after seeing how they respond to the parents...totally unacceptable.
I'm so glad I didn't move forward with these people.

& to any parent that comes across this review, save your hard earned money and find someone from
Care.com 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 or even 🐇Task Rabbit 🐇 .

Redundant Fees, Developer is Shameless in overcharging

My wife and I used Kid Car for our 1y/o son in NYC. From JFK to Columbus Circle, it was $125. The actual payment was $87, then they hit you with a bunch of fees. Black Car Fund, Airport fee and Congestion fee I understand. However, they charged us $10.89 for a child/minor fee?! It’s a Kids Car App!!! You’re charging me extra to receive the service that your entire business is founded on?!? That is absolutely ridiculous.

The app shows you the price before you book the ride, but it doesn't show you how it breaks down until after the fact.

Great service

They care. Makes a difference.

Response from developer

We do. It does. :)

Way Too Expensive!

I can have someone ride to school in an Uber and pick up my child and then ride home with them in another Uber for less than a one way ride with this service. So disappointing. We would have used it 6 days a week if it were even close to reasonably priced.

Response from developer

Kid CarPool is a cost-effective solution that allows groups of families to share the cost of the vehicle. While I appreciate the comparison (Kid Car vs 'Uber + Babysitter'), it does not capture the cost and uncertainty of hailing the the Uber (surge pricing), the babysitter getting to the school on time (traffic to the school), or the safety of the driver behind the wheel. Kid Car is the only car service that provides professionally trained, fully vetted driver with properly installed, age and weight-appropriate car seats, a choice of vehicles, and the ability to reserve on short notice (if it were easy, *someone* else would do it ;)).

Too expensive!!!

$75 for a 2 mile ride. Insane!!!

Response from developer

Kid Car pricing varies base on the time of day. During school hours, we recommend our Kid CarPool service where groups of families can share the cost of a regular ride. Outside of school hours, a 2 mile ride in NYC is as little as $43 (including gratuity) - $43 may also be 'Insane!!!,' but it's not $75 ;).

No reason for a price like this.

Unless the driver has a PhD and my kid gets a massage. On his way to school, 20 mi ride for $54 is not worth it.

Response from developer

Kid Car does not, and will never, provide massages to children.
