  • Great but not giving rewards as supposed to anymore

Been playing a few months and I really enjoy it.

However, it is not delivering as it once did. A lot of my bears are levels 30-75. The Daily Stories page does not pay out the rewards as “guaranteed” what is it supposed to anymore when you win which is frustrating if you are hoping to collect a specific item. “Guaranteed coins” pays out berries or other things for example.

  • Getting weary

I’ve been enjoying the game but lately it feels like I have hit a wall. Need to level a lot to progress in the storyline for normal and hard mode, need to level 200 more levels with several bears to get even a single legendary bear. Very rarely get the new bears I need in time warps. It feels more and more like, after already paying to remove ads, the only way to progress is buying the $10 and $20 packs that will level bears for you and give you the bears you need to earn legendary bears. Otherwise it is spending a lot of time a day leveling as many bears as you can, waiting for honey to regenerate, then leveling more bears. It’s just becoming a bit tedious and not as enjoyable as it used to be.

  • My New Favorite Game

I got this game not really knowing if I would enjoy it or not. It’s turned into one of my favorite games. Everything about it is so adorable and I’m a sucker for puns, this game is right up my alley. I wish there wasn’t ads after finishing most matches, as there’s other ways for the game to have you watch ads. That’s my only complaint about the game though, I love it!

  • Lovely word game, without overt monetization

I’ve really been enjoying this word game since I picked it up. I’ve never seen a monetization system that’s so careful to not build something where the payoff is always just one more play away. Every time I pick this game up, I get something satisfying out of it. It was also totally worth paying for the ultimate bundle to get rid of the advertisements. Plus the gameplay itself is polished and beautiful, and I never knew how much I could enjoy collecting bears!

  • Fun game but too many currencies

This game is fun but it has too many in-game currencies. I dislike the reason posted on the website about removing infinite honey for the players health. Nonsense. What would be great for our health is to not be encouraged to waste real money on digital coins, coffees, and cloth packs.

I am happy to pay for a good game and did pay to remove ads. I will not be paying more money for various bear goods and wish there was an option to hide the shop and turn off time-limited deal pop-ups.

Otherwise, the game is fun to play. The bears are very cute. The addition of the dictionary in this version is great. I love learning what words mean. There are occasions where valid words are restricted (usually “bad” words). Sometimes there words that are valid but don’t feel like they should be (“uey” and proper nouns like “Noah”). Some sources don’t seem reputable but this may be down to API costs. I imagine Oxford Dictionary costs more to access than Wordnik. If there was an option to choose a source I’d gladly pay for it.

  • Surprisingly entertaining

My daughter has been trying unsuccessfully to get me interested in one of the many games she likes, until now. I was pleasantly surprised by Alphabear 2. It’s a decent puzzle game with adorable and creative bear characters and plenty of variety, especially for a free game. There are more ads than I’d like, but I’d like there to be none, which is unreasonable for a free game. I definitely recommend you try out Alphabear 2.

  • Great Game

This is an amazing game with great graphics and a fun story to keep you just interested enough to play but not enough to be a problem or get in the way of the gameplay. The unique bears, tv time function, rechargeable honey, and special events add a little something that other games don’t have. I’ve only gotten one or two intrusive ads in the month or so I’ve been playing this game. I’m just wondering if you could have a feature to make your own levels or bears that can be unlocked by helping people out by, say, sending them honey. You could friend people and send gifts to earn custom bears. Or maybe there’s a different currency, say, candies, and you can pay a certain amount of candies to make a custom bear. Then you have different levels of items and accessories and powers. Common level stuff is free but rare, epic, and legendary bears cost candies. You can earn candies through tournaments and by competing with your friends. Overall I love the game, so do my friends and family, and I can’t wait to see what the developers have in store!

  • Bad update

Do you guys even test your patches before you put it live? Game is broken due to update. And what’s with the excessive amounts of ads? Fun game at first but then upon completing chapter 1, after every story mode stage an ad is shown. That’s an ad every 2 mins. Do you really have to milk that ad revenue so hard? I would understand 3-5 stages and then a force ad was shown. Too many ad interruptions within the game. Game is fun though, when you can play it. Lots of potential, stunted by greed.

  • Best word game I’ve played

This is a smart, sweet spin on word games. Addictive, but not so addictive that you neglect the other parts of your life. I even sometimes use it to practice phonetic spelling with my 5-year old, who loves dressing up the cute little bears. Even though this is the best word game I’ve ever played, for Alphabear 3, it might be nice to have a little less grinding to level up bears for the later levels, and for there to be more later levels that go up in difficulty more slowly—the game loses some of its fun when you get stuck in one place for several days or a week. Also, I’m sometimes tempted to stay up until midnight to get honey lol. I’d say this is a huge improvement over the original Alphabear, which was great fun, and I look forward to being inspired and entertained by the Spry Fox team for a long time!

  • “Big Water”

I don’t frequently write reviews, but after I finished the first stop on level 3 and fell over giggling at the text, I decided I had to.
The first Alpha Bear game is fun; it’s one of the few I keep on my phone when the mood to play a word game strikes. However, it can’t hold a candle to this version. Spry Fox did a great job fleshing out various aspects to the game, such as the game board, the clothing feature, and the ways you can collect new bears. Those are, of course, icing on the cake of an already fun concept - Bearified Boggle, essentially, but with some hysterically clever text. The ads aren’t even as annoying as you might think they’d be (although I was more than happy to plunk down the coin to get rid of them and support this developer). In short, I am really happy I downloaded this. :)
