Does not reliably connect

IF I can get the app to to stay connected to my new Minirig 3, it works fine for a while. It’ll eventually (within minutes) disconnect from the speaker and may well not let me reconfigure it for a long while. Totally random whether you’re getting in or not. Love the speaker! Great sound!! Terrible app.

Unfinished app!

Agree with other reviewers, the app feels buggy and unfinished! I absolutely love the quality and amazing sound from these speakers, but the app is black eye to an otherwise kickass speaker system!

Truly shameful

This is perhaps the worst app I’ve ever had the misfortune to use in my life. Sure, Minirig 3s sounds great, but when playing via aux in it cuts out every 10 seconds, so it’s pretty useless to me.

The app recognizes my devices with duplicates, and they’re all labeled the same so I don’t know which is which; then when you select one, it thinks for 10 seconds and then asks you to select devices again.

Reinstall the app a few times, and finally it’ll let you see the settings for a device. Then when you change any settings, it has no confirmation of the change was applied, and then when you reconnect the device, the setting isn’t applied.

after all is said and done, minirigs support’s suggestion to fix the problem makes no difference. And you’ve got a giant hole in your wallet and just experienced an hour of misery fighting against this truly awful app.

I hope everyone writing software at Minirigs gets fired immediately, and hopefully finds jobs in something besides software. It’s a shame upon not just their company, but Great Britain as a whole. Truly miserable experience.

If you want to sell garbage like this, at least price it like the garbage it is.

Pretty poor app for a great speakers

The pros are, that if it connects to speakers, it works ok for most part.

The cons are, that being able to connect it to speakers is almost impossible at first.
For example if I’m already listening to music from my phone and using anything other than Apple Music, this app will search for speakers and show them in the list, but won’t connect to them.
I have to quit Spotify or any other player first (manually close it by sliding it up) and then try to open minirig app to connect and refresh first. At that point I have pretty well chances to connect to the speaker (master one if synced in stereo mode).

If speakers are synced in stereo mode, this app won’t turn them back ON together using the standby option. Only the master speaker will turn ON. The slave speaker has to be triggered manually again.

The equalizer sometimes won’t respond from pre-settings. It has to be triggered manually first.

I do appreciate the effort of updates from minirig. It seems to be consistent.

Trash trash trash

Agreed with the other 1 star review. Their software is trash. Just got a brand new MINIRIG Mini (I was rocking the original and V1 Bluetooth before that, which has less features) and this app has me legit thinking I think to sell all these speakers and go buy a Boom UE. It’s completely unusable. I repeat: COMPLETELY UNUSABLE.

Fix this trash ASAP.

Good app, but..

I have no problem with the app itself, but I think Minirigs ought to do something about the 'pop' and drop in bass at higher volumes to address intermodulation distortion, to make MRBT-2 as distortion-free as the Mini. I hope this could be possible with a firmware update, as I it just purchased one. Dynamic adjustment of bass to allow clear treble would be good. And user-adjustable EQ in the app, please, to save me having to adjust it in Spotify. Or at least a treble booster, so they may approach the clarity and definition of the Mini (which I now regret not buying instead). Mono audio sounds a little muddy at the best of times, so more clarity would be great! Keep up the otherwise great work.

Poor App, bugged and lack of functionality

Great speakers but this app is a shame.

Fully bugged, keeps crashing at launch on IPhone 8, and no “back to main menu” option on Ipad, so have to kill the app and relaunch each time I need to change menu.

Moreover, on my Ipad, no EQ frequency selectors, so unable to use sound Equalizer at all, therefore poor sound quality without sound spectrum adjustments.

Minirig should invest in the development of their App, as it is shameful to deliver such experience, knowing that 99% of users will use Bluetooth and rely on App controls for their speakers.

Hopefully this will be correct soonest....
