  • Amazing game, 100% worth it

Wow I just finished it and I can only say good things about this game. The controls are easy and feel natural. The graphics and gameplay are awesome. My only complaint would be that I would have loved a long campaign. Would love to see a sequel to this game!!
  • An excellent and challenging Souls-like

I took a chance on this game and I’m glad I did! I’m somebody who tried to get into Dark Souls but the difficulty was just too much for me, and now I’m older I don’t have the time to bang my head against a wall trying to beat a boss.

This game takes the Souls formula but makes it much more accessible. Save points are numerous and if you die, you retain all the experience and treasure that you had - no “recovered lost souls”.

I finished this game in about 10 hours but I’m not a completionist. If you are then it’ll probably take you between 10 and 13 hours to finish.

The difficulty is challenging but fair, and the touch controls work great. That being said if touch controls aren’t your bag, the game is also MFI compatible.

An excellent and challenging adventure, well worth every penny.

  • Good game

Recently I have played a lot of games on mobile (IOS) and this game is the best so far. For a hardcore game, the play style of this game has really good mechanics and story to follow. It has many little bidding spots for loot to be found for much needed upgrades. If you are sick of pay to play/win games that are filled with adds and these questionable “deals” then buy this game and have a play you won’t be disappointed.

  • Metroidvania done well

Very much enjoyed playing this. There were some times when my dodge didn’t seem to register but the game itself never feels unfair, and I really like how I would start out intimidated by some of the bosses but soon figure out how to deal with them and feel quite accomplished.

The story is very interesting but there isn’t nearly enough of it. It’s not overly surprising or deep as the villain twist I found QUITE obvious, and there’s a supporting character who barley exists in the game at all and only really helps in the very end. There is a lot of lore drops though and I hope that if this ever gets turned into a bigger for-console/pc game, that they add a ton more into the story, as well as add more side-quests and customization.

Most of my complaints really stem from “I loved what I got, I just want more” because what is here is definitely worth the price even if the game is short. I 100% it pretty quickly on my first time, but it was quite fun, and for something limited by iPhone graphics, it looks great, and the designs for the characters are also great even if a bit standard.

In short, I want more. I would definitely support a kickstarter to make this a bigger thing, be it a sequel or remake.

  • Wonderfully Fluid

This is the very FIRST mobile game I have ever bought. It does not disappoint. I love these kind of hack and slash platformers, especially as a quick way to pass the time.
This game’s attack mechanics and dual weapon system work very smoothly along with the dodge and jump mechanics. It feels great to play as a mobile game. Some other roguelikes such as Dead Souls are also very fun, but I love Grimvalor for it’s atmosphere. The lighting and tone of the game is easy on the eyes and suggests a deeper fantasy lore.
I’ve only played a half hour so I don’t know what other features there are to unlock, but just from the very little I’ve experienced, it seems like a very well balanced, and replayable game.

  • Awesome hack and slash

This game is epic! It’s super addictive and fun to play. It’s one of the few worthwhile pay once games out there. Hope the developer makes more like this!
  • Top quality 2d hack and slash platformer.

In these days of open world 3d epics, its great to see that the platform game isnt dead.

This one in particular is an outstanding example of a well crafted game. Wonderful visuals, perfect music, great fight system, well implemented upgrade system.

One of the best games on ios.
  • Best Game for Travels/Waiting for a Lecture

This game is perfect for anyone who is traveling long distances. The leveling is hard enough to get you an amazing feel of challenge but at the same time not give you a sense of frustration. This game is what most other games fail to accomplish: a perfect balance. The hidden weapons and trinkets are hard enough to take you some time to find them but not placed in an impossible place. I only ever had to look up at ONE hidden trinket. I chose a balanced set for my skills. Meaning that I wasn’t putting ALL or most of my skill points on attack or health. Even with that I still was progressing normally and with a healthy amount of difficulty. All of the bosses had fair attacks and phases to the point that if you died it was more of bad planning on your part than bad/faulty programming. The best part of this game though, is that it never forces you to continue on the main storyline. You always have the option to spend hours leveling up or looking for hidden stuff as you try to 100% the game. All of that makes for one hell of a game for traveling or waiting for a class to start, as you will be spending hours piecing together the lore, or just leveling up until you are one-hit killing bosses. Definitely a must have game on any phone!

  • Simply amazing

This game really earns a 5 star ratting from me. The gameplay, the graphics and over all experience is fun and I can always find myself wanting to keep playing, even when my battery is screaming at me to stop. The combat is fun, addicting and intense when facing harder opponents, mini bosses and the big bads. Which means you have to master the dodge ability, which adds more of a challenge, considering the enemies will rip you a new one.

I only have one miner nit-pick, which is the lack of character customization. And the story isn’t all amazing, but it gets a pass because everything else is so freaking fun.

  • Beautifully made

Game runs well and all but is there a way to re-map the buttons to suit PS4 controllers instead of Xbow? Thanks
