  • Actual good game on mobile?

To get straight to the point, I’ve played hundreds of mobile games across various genres and this is probably the best one.

Does this mean that it’s for everyone? No, maybe not. Similar to Souls games, the story is pieced together from hidden text, easy-to-miss dialogue, and what you figure out yourself. If you want a narrative-heavy game, this might not be what you’re looking for.

However, while it’s pretty typical, if you like this kind of thing then this game is exactly what you’re looking for. I personally enjoy this type of narrative, it adds to the gameplay without weighing it down.

As for the gameplay, it’s beyond what I would expect from a mobile game. The controls are extremely responsive, everything feels clean. It plays just like Castlevania: lots of dashing. And frankly, it feels great.

Movement is wonderful, fights feel incredible. Control-wise, this game is well ahead of even most PC titles. I never feel like I’m being hindered by mobile controls, which is a feat in-and-of itself.

No micro-transactions, no pay-to-win, no ads, nothing invasive or annoying, just a genuinely good game.

    NOTE TO DEVELOPERS:

I returned to East Garrison later in the game (to search for the treasures I missed) and somehow initiated the mini-boss fight again. Not sure if it’s intended or not, just wanted to let you know that it happens.

  • Good game, could improve final two bosses

Really fun to play and very smooth fighting mechanics. I beat the game in about three days, but that also meant it didn't get repetitive.

I was less of a fan of the last two boss battles. The second to last makes you wait until he attacks before you can hit him which mostly just draws out the fight. The last battle's "moving" islands were a real pain to navigate since you sometimes cannot jump up if the island "floats" too high.

By far my favourite bosses were the ones with all out action with clear mechanics constant fighting. The "clones" of bosses added an extra level to the fights that meant you had to not only time your attacks, but also guide the opponents into the positions you want.

  • Amazing !

Honestly, it’s pretty rare to find an offline game with a nice gameplay. This one does, but it’s also beautiful, has a nice story, and had a huge life duration.
    Definitely recommend.
  • Well worth the buy

I have barely played the first chapter, but I am quite impressed (which doesn’t happen often especially with mobile gaming). The graphics, gameplay, freedom to play previous acts, and even story are done very well. Even if you’re not a fan of slide scroller rpgs, this game won’t fail to please. I was on the fence about spending the money on this game, but even now believe it’s worth more than the asking price. No ads, flawless gaming and efficiency make this a must have. Easy 5 out of 5 stars in my book. Kudos to the team involved with this gem 🙂

  • A diamond in the rough

My only complaint is that the App Store displays games like they’re equals!! This is the game I’ve been waiting for! A game that costs a few bucks, but is worth every penny! I don’t mind buying a great game to have no ads, not be bombarded with in-app purchases! This game is up there with InfinityBlade, Limbo, Alto’s adventure and monument valley!!
The game has and engaging story and beautiful graphics along with a great soundtrack! It’s clear someone put some hard work and love into this game! The game is challenging, but not impossible although at times it feels like it, until you learn your enemy! The game has plenty of secrecies which extends the game play and the leveling system for everything is spot on, without the need to feel like they’re should be in-app purchases!!

To the creators of this game, I say bravo, bravo! I really hope there’s a sequel !😊

  • BEST GAME EVER!!

    I cannot rate this higher!
I would could only opt for a 10/10
Star but I only did five
The visuals are very pleasing and Are FANTASTIC the audio and music stunningly matched the game, the bosses really put adrenaline into you!
  • Amazing with huge improv. potential

All the good words I’m not repeating here. What i would say is this game single handedly brought me to the interest of 2D scroll action game - far from a fan, I hated this kind of game before. Now here I am.

    Suggestions:
    1. Fix the bug in Nelaag’s lair! My companion did not give me the key to the locked cell, so I couldn’t get the chest!
    2. More to the upgrading system! Whether it’s weapons or trinkets. Currently there’s no custom system at all. Would be amazing to be able to custom weapons, upgrade skills(those brought by trinkets).
    3. I know this is cliche, but more levels! What’s more: consider adding different mode, e.g., you could make a nexus of “trial space”, where player can deal with waves of foes or repeat boss fights.
    4. The plot is sheer crap, like the author blatantly says to your face “I don’t give a crap”. They just don’t care. Well, I don’t care either, just that if you are making the storyline longer next time, be more considerate and hire a professional instead of making programmers make up this crap (sorry professional if you did get hired)

That’s all. Best of luck to your studio.

  • Mobile Dark Souls

This game is obviously trying to be Dark Souls and I think it does a great job blending together different genres. The combat and controls are easy to use and once you master them the combat is fun. The bosses are engaging and you need to figure out their different patterns. The problem is that sometimes you can abuse your dash and kind of breaks the immersion when you literally can’t be killed for a long time because you spam the dash/dodge button. The game was also extended too much at the end, I just wanted a satisfying end. (spoilers) When the girl betrays you it is so obvious and just not necessary. It kept saying “This is your last challenge” but it just took way too long in the end. I half expected the merchant I saved to be a boss too. Overall though this game was amazing and worth my 8 hours of play.

  • VERY Fun

I love this game, extremely fun. I havent hadmany games that I dont get tired of on my phone, but this is a gams that I LOVE! Saving is fantastic, it makes playing a quick game real easy and playing a lot at once less punishing. It is one of the best sidescrolling games I have ever played, and definitely an amazing game for IOS, so on the go play is easy. Battery life doesnt seem to be drained much so thats a plus too, and I can’t help but just overall enjoy the game. Character creation gave me a scare, you can only choose the gender of your character and that is it, but gameplay wise, the game is gold.

  • Amazing

Nearly everything about this game is phenomenal. The graphics are amazing to look at, the controls are smooth and work as intended, not to mention the wonderful music. No boss is impossible to beat (unless you’re an incompetent moron who never dodges or upgrades gear and only spams attack). As long as you learn their patterns and dodge you should be fine.

I also appreciate how there are no scummy in app purchases. We get the full thing from the first payment.

This game is definitely worth the money. I’m looking forward to any future games Direlight makes.
