  • 100% worth it

I’ve never written a review for a game before but this game deserves it I mean where do I begin it has an amazing story with fun and intuitive controls the boss fights are insanely hard but in a good not cheap way (you always know why you died)
Sure it has a lot of aspects that seemed ripped from dark souls but it has so many differences from ds that it shouldn’t be faulted and I love the system where you get new charms that add stuff to your attacks so you really feel strong by the end of the game without feeling overpowered honestly so amazing and 100% worth it

  • Good fun but then

It’s a great game up to a point. Looks slick and plays well. Then, for a change of pace the player is confronted with an ever growing series of ludicrous ‘jumps’ to perform in order to progress rather than smashing enemies in the face. There really is no fun in spending the best part of an hour attempting to land a jump between ledges, then to find it has to be repeated, in fact it’s plain bad. With a controller interface this could be understood but developers should really take into consideration the interlaced being used to play their game. That aside it’s a fun romp but be prepare for frustration.

  • Binged and beat the game in 10 hrs. Loved every minute.

I just got this game on my iPad and I play with a GameVice MFi controller. It plays great with the controller and everything about it feels console-quality! I just have one request... can we have an option to customize the button layout? At the minimum, can we have the ability to switch the jump and dash buttons like the touch controls? Thanks! Keep up the great work!

    Update:
I just beat the game! I binged and played through the game in a week. It’s been extremely fun, and I can’t wait for DLC and future titles from Direlight!

  • Absolutely outstanding.

This is by far the best iOS title I’ve played in a long, long time! Extremely gripping, and couldn’t put it down. I picked this up on sale but having played it, I’d have happily paid full price and will recommend it at any given opportunity! Can only pray for a sequel, or additional content at some point!

  • A true masterpiece

After I saw this on the App Store I thought I’d give it a try. After playing dead cells, this game looked like an interesting take on the side scrolling genre of castlevania like games of today. It’s worth the money, time, and energy.

The game has a captivating campaign that left me wanting more. I hope the developers decide to add more content in the future. It constantly challenged me to try that boss again after the 12th try. Sometimes I had to take a step back to become more powerful before trying again. The controls are easy to learn, hard to master. Timing dodges is perfect, and satisfying. Combat is sharp (literally) and fleshed out. I found myself going back and doing certain levels over and over again just to experience it all. The art style is wonderful in my opinion. The AI is smart. Very smart. Sometimes even smacking me when I’m hanging from a ledge. Sometimes my dodges wouldn’t register with the game, but it was a once in a while thing that only affected me greatly twice during boss fights.

Overall... get this game. It’s worth every penny.

  • Hands down the best offline game I’ve ever played

First of all it’s really well balanced, once u start hitting the nearly impossible u either find equipment in a chest or u get enough gems or crystals to buy a piece. Unique bosses and it’s a challenge not gonna lie. I finished it in three days when I played on my way to work or something and free time. It’s no short game per say, but you won’t want it to end. As a matter of fact I’d want a part two or something. I loved the experience and story and gameplay. Like nothing I’ve ever played before. But for anyone wondering if it’s a good game, it’s a great one for sure. Now play and give reviews so I can get my part two u fools:)

  • Best game I own

I must say this is the best mobile/tablet game I have ever played. The graphics are really nice and the game runs so smoothly. I would highly recommend.
  • Addicting!

This game is so addicting! I can't stop playing. Most games I kind of fiddle with, but this 1 sucked me in right away. It's not too easy, but not frustratingly difficult where you want to give in. The only truly frustrating part for me are the floating globe-things that you have to hit to fly over a large valley. Took me hours to master ‘depths of the mountain.’ Even then, I think I only got it out of sheer luck. I finished and though the final was challenging but not too difficult as someone else thought. Hope they do another.

  • Great atmosphere

People who are fans of games like hollow knight or dark souls will appreciate the dark atmosphere of the game. It manages to feel more “lonely” than “empty” by implying that there is a lot more going on than you are aware of. Gameplay is simple on the surface but still rather difficult, and you will often find yourself rapidly switching between attacking and dodging. Game seems to have decent length, although I have not yet finished so I can’t fully comment on it. New areas introduce new enemies, mechanics for progressions, and environments, so the different Acts are not just reskins of the previous ones.

  • Best game in a long time!

Wow! A REAL game! Dark Souls meets Castlevania and it’s wonderful. Haven’t seen any usual pay to play or pay to win, no overly complicated upgrade systems. I’d love to buy and play this game on ps4 or Nintendo switch or even as a side scrolling VR title on Oculus. It can be a tough game, challenges around every corner but that is part of what makes it great. Surprise bosses that hunt you and fast paced hack n slash action. The best thing is that it doesn’t feel like an iOS game. No stupid gimmicks or summons or bags of diamonds to buy. I’m addicted and well worth the few dollars that it cost.
