Can’t even get first step right
Firstly why put abbreviations and assume I will know what they mean
Secondly why assume that a consultant would have to be doing what I assume are extra or additional programmed activities and not be able to enter the employer without putting a number in
Quite annoying in terms of an assumption than work life balance is not important for a BMA app so you get 1 star from simply annoying me
Response from developer
Hi there. You might not have noticed extra/additional PAs are optional so you should leave this field blank if it does not apply to you.
Good but could be better
Response from developer
Thank you for your review. Just to say you can change to 15-minute time slots in the 'Settings' section. There is also the 'Average week' report which gives you the PAs/week for the current month.
Just a calendar
Response from developer
You will be able to view this in the Reports section of the app. More detailed reports, a comparison with your job plan and the option to share with your employer are available at https://doctordiary.bma.org.uk
Improving
You can’t duplicate things so each day has to be entered manually, which is tedious!
Additionally you can’t set the PA rate for some reason.
However it is slowly improving.
Maybe an option for important from a calendar would be possible
Response from developer
Try tapping on the the icon with the vertical 3 dots on the top right of the diary - you will be able to copy a day (from the day view) or a week (from the week view) of activities to another date.
MMS
I have been using the XCEL version of the diary which is very comfortable but difficult to use on mobile.
Response from developer
Hi there - you definitely can input more than 10 PAs. With the new version of the app it is easier to see the details you entered in your job plan. Please contact support@bma.org.uk if you need help amending your job plan.
Just do not download it.
You get an automated message regarding an online form, in case your employer isn’t on the system: well, the form isn’t opening.
In conclusion: a useless waste of time.
No wonder the developer keeps replying-apologising to every single comment!
Response from developer
Sorry to hear that you had problems getting started. Please contact support@bma.org.uk for further assistance.
Poor functionality
2. Unable to log entries that cross over the 24hr period into next day. This seemed to appear for a short while but has disappeared again. Disappointing.
Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback. In response to user feedback, the app defaults to the current day when you open it. The ability to add activities that span over to the next day is still there. You will see the option when you adjust the end time of your activity -to the same start time (24 hours) or into the early hours.
Needs work
Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback. The feedback form in the tool allows you to rate and send your comments to the product team - this is stored and reviewed by the team. If you haven’t already left your comments using the app, please contact drdiary@bma.org.uk and we can help you further.
Easy to use
Main flaw for me now is that Part weeks don’t contribute to average weekly PA calculations though. This is a problem for averaging out PA as I often end up doing more work than contracted when I am not working a full week, and so this is not captured fully.
Dr Diary
Part weeks due to leave need a correction.
Would be useful if the Data could be downloaded into an excel spreadsheet
