Great game but it’s P2W
I’ve been playing it for a few years now and while I tried a few other idle games, this one to me feels and looks the best. I’ve tried the StreetFighter idle game and while I really liked it, the UI was extremely confusing to me as to where I feel that AFK Arene did a great job in making everything feel accessible. They also have extremely fun mini games to play that I enjoy. My biggest problem and why I give this game such a low rating is the prices of everything, horrible RNG and the fact you’ll never catch up to the top people on your server. You compete against people who are level 900 from other countries as well as people who seem to be able to dump an entire fortune to max out characters the same day they drop. The RNG makes buying stuff that aren’t direct hero purchases (usually costs you anywhere from $50 to $100) almost completely useless. The stuff you actually want to drop legit has a .2% chance of dropping. In the end, it’s a freemium cellphone game so you can expect there to be an insane amount of grind, abundant low tier gear drops to make you feel like you’re doing something when you’re really not, and overly high priced purchases. Pick up a hobby instead. So many clan mates leave because of how lifeless it feels after a while.Show less5 stars until this made it 1 star
I’ve been playing for about a couple years now, my player level is 206 and my combat rating is 158M and for the most part I enjoyed the game until this recent event where there was hero swapping. This would have been cool or so I thought. When it says “replace hero” and “target hero” I assumed that I would “replace” said hero for the “target” hero and so I put thane in the replace hero slot thinking he would turn into talene, instead they switched levels and the progress on talene I’ve put in over the years is just gone, that alone made me sad enough to stop playing the game but what really put the nail in the coffin was the fact that after this I couldn’t even reach support.
When this happened I tried several times to contact support just for a slight chance that I might be able to revert my mistake (even thought directions were unclear) but when I do, it says “Please tap Player Support” when there’s no button that says player support.
It’s just pretty disappointing because I loved this game but now I don’t think I can play it without getting upset about what I did, I may be stupid for misinterpreting the directions for the hero swap but I wish they would have been more clear and that there is a way to revert this. My player name is glizzy goblin just incase anything is possible but if not, this game was a fun ride until this ig.Show lessDeveloper Response

New updated seems to have fixed slow/no load problem. Pretty snappy now. Different twist on RPGs. Fun and interesting so far. Still trying to figure out stuff. Developers seem very supportive of players. Loads of free stuffs, it seems. While acquiring characters and building them are the main game play in this RPG, there are lots of different game modes to keep the game interesting. So many that I don’t bother learning some and just skip them. One of the annoying things is that they force your attention to the Legends’ Championship. Where you bet gold on who will win. I am not interested in gambling, so I just ignore the attention marker, but still annoying that it’s there. Arena of Heroes game mode is a joke. It’s a PvP game mode that was fun in the beginning. Now, I only get matched to players that are higher than me. Therefore, no more progression for me. I don’t even bother with that hopeless game mode anymore. Overall, this game has held my interest. With it’s diverse game modes, players can always find something to interest them, and you can do a lot as free to play. Although the offerings to paying players are unique and interesting, too.Show less
