New app - not a fan

The old app used to be great. The new wheel based time changing is very fiddly to use. Also the iPad app performs poorly on the iPad mini and the forced landscape orientation is slightly annoying. Also one feature request - if you cannot automate the hour of power as others have requested, can we get an api or Siri shortcut to change it quickly than doing it via the app? Thanks.

App doesn’t work

Ever since the update I’ve never been able to log in, when I try it just says “oops, there’s something wrong at our end” - yes, there is.

It’s annoying because I like to check everything on the go, and I tried the chat and they just told me the usual stuff by reinstalling from my end, which hasn’t worked. I’d say it’s been about 4 months, and I tried today and still nothing. I can log in on the website though, so they need to fix this.

Implement a green light when HoP is on

App is great, however if you change your hour of power a few minutes before you want it to start there is no notification that the hour of power started. I have the notification set at 10 minutes before (which I want to keep) but it would be good if there would be another one when it actually starts.

It would be nice to have a green light showing in the app as well so you know when your HoP is active. Just a small HoP with a green light next to it in the top corner would be enough

Unable to login since app update

Completely agree and confirm the information provided by the previous reviewer. Experiencing same issue with the inability to login since the app update and unable to reset password as link does not work. Progressed through all options to rectify however still unable to login. Very frustrating due to the inability to update the hour of power since the app update.

Unable to log in since app updated

Looking at switching power companies as cannot access any of my data now. Reinstalled app 3 times now to see if it would fix problem and still not working. Chat said it was no problem at their end, sent me a link which also wouldn’t work. Can’t even get password reset link to work to try and change password and see if it helps. Has only been a problem for last week or so - coincidence that this is roughly when app was “updated”…no issues with background app settings as have looked at this too. Very frustrating.

Insight screen is too small

Why is the insight screen so small on my phone? It used to take up the whole screen before the update, now there’s an unnecessary border around it which has shrunk its size

Horrific customer service

I’ve been with electric kiwi two weeks and am jumping ship to another company. Their service is horrible. You email and sometimes never hear back. When they do reply, it’s like talking to a robot from the 1970s — the answers make no sense within the context of your message.

When they setup my account, they set me up with the wrong plan. 7 emails and 3 live chats later nothing has been fixed. We tried to get internet as well and that was even more painful and frustrating (which is quite an accomplishment).

Ok

Ok app but hasn’t been updated much at all in years and desperately needs a modern refresh, particularly the hour of power slider which is really fiddly. I also don’t get any notifications even though all of them are set to on 🤷

Eh yeah nah ae

I don’t know how you’ve done it, maybe it’s due to using some cross platform libraries.. but on an iPhone there’s no autocorrect when using the “chat” which is some cross between email and almost chat, but nothing like a modern chat interface. It also just has weird formatting and new lines added that seem to come from nowhere.

You offer broadband and power, but broadband is an afterthought to the app. There’s no usage tracking. There’s no peak bandwidth utilisation. That would be most useful to determine which plan would be best. The routers you supply don’t have that either.

Power could also do with forecasting. You have an excellent team of forecasters. Get them to make a simplified model for the app. Alerting on forecast usage is much more useful than a threshold. Even recommending plans (given a high enough confidence) like you do yearly, but do it when people are in the app whenever you already have their attention. That would be much better.

Can’t access the app or website from overseaa

As a landlord who lives overseas and supply power for my tenants, i need to have access to the app or at least the website to make payment and also keep track of what was used but impossible while being overseas. Been sending email with no response either
