  • Really good mobile port.

Was initially worried about the controls. But it turned out to be very easy to get used to.
  • Good so far

Has the great “one more run” feel I love from games like Hades. Mechanics work beautifully together, visuals are great and the moment to moment gameplay works pretty well on the IPhone
  • Dead difficult but hell of a lot of fun collecting those boss cells.

A worthy rouges’ past time fighting your way through this massive game. Great that it fits on mobile (although a wireless controller is required to get the high speed cut and thrust), a really excellent game for Apple TV too. If Hollow Knight could port in to mobile as well I probably would not get any work done at all!

  • Seriously love this game!

I’m not one to write reviews usually, but I had to for this game. I’ve never played the pc port, but this one runs so smoothly that it would run just as well on all of the computers I own. The gameplay was difficult, and I keep having stretches where I don’t play it at all. But each time I come back, the game’s zombies and many bosses are waiting to both kick my tail and get theirs kicked by mine. I’ve played the game since launch and it’s greatly improved! If you’re still reading this get ittttt it’s really hard at first but it’s fun to learn and improve. The farthest I’ve gotten without getting hit is the fishing village (second area) Try to beat that!

  • Awesome game, fits mobile surprisingly well!

I played Dead Cells a lot on console (PlayStation 4), but have never been able to beat The Hand of the King. When I found Dead Cells on my iPhone I was a little skeptical, but the retro style and relatively simple control scheme of the game lends itself really well to mobile! I’ve been playing just a few days and I’ve actually managed to beat the Hand of the King for the first time!!! I still have multiple runes left to unlock and a LOT of recipes, so it does seem like the difficulty has been nerfed slightly on mobile. That being said, the game gets harder every time you kill the Hand, and I’ve already spent too much time writing this. Back to the dungeon, I go!

  • Awesome game

Honestly, I would spend much more time playing this game, but I have school so I can’t. But school aside, this game is great. I love the controls for this game, considering a lot of games on mobile devices have controls that aren’t that good, this one has good controls, even though this is also a console game. The way this game works is amazing, I like how when you die, the map changes. I like that about this game, it feels like a whole new experience every time I die, because I get thrown into a world I know nothing about. It’s a bit like Minecraft hardcore in a way, you die and you start a new world that looks different and you can’t respawn in that world. All in all this game is fun. I give this 5/5 stars simply because it’s got good controls and fun to play over and over again.

  • Awesome game love it but...

Love this game and I’m up to bc4 been playing it non stop but it doesn’t lose a star because it’s addictive... it loses a star because of the sound bugs that happen randomly they are very annoying and have to restart the game to fix them. Can the developers please please fix this issue the game isn’t the same on mute need to hear sound cues for the monsters attacks.

  • Great Game, Better on Other Platforms

I love the game, I have it on Steam, Switch, and iOS. The iOS version has some problems though. I took away a star because the game could be better and the issues fixed if the developers would put in a little extra time. The controls for hand held aren’t really ideal, yea they work but they could be better. Another issue is controller support, some work and others don’t. For example my PS4 controller works fine but the 8bit do controllers don’t. Last part is that they don’t seem to be porting over the new content, it’s not free on the other platforms but I’d have happily paid it to have it here as well.

One last note, something to consider is implementing an online account system to be able to use your account and saved games across platforms.

  • Great game, but sound bugs

So the game has been beautifully ported, well worth the money and a great offline game when you don’t have reception. The concept actually works brilliant on phone to, very much a pick up and play style of game.
4 stars though purely to sound issues.
    1. You can’t play music while in the game, for a game like this I feel like you really need that
    2. You then get sound bugs, music chops in and out, slug explosions are super loud compared to other audio
    3. So most of the time you end of playing with no music (not even in game) and just have sound effects which impacts the enjoyment factor.

  • Honest Review & request

I love Dead Cells. The combat and controls feel so smooth, the graphics and style of the game is very fun to play and experience. The feeling you get when you find a new area is indescribable, with new enemies and items. This is an amazing game that the developers obviously have put so much effort into, one thing that I find annoying is that you can’t listen to music while playing, I would love this to be fixed as it would make it more enjoyable to play. Overall I think this a great game and would highly recommend it to a friend.
